The tale of this talented artist has only just begun. At the age of 22, Bri-Spot still has all the innocence and excitement of a boy following a dream. He began chasing this star, unknowingly perhaps, when he began singing at the age of five.
"I never even thought about being an entertainer, well, that's a lie, I wanted to be a professional wrestler." he notes -- however dreams of reaching the WWE were soon out of sight after a backyard wrestling accident left Bri-Spot unable to walk, much less wrestle.
"The accident was difficult, but the thing that helped me recover was music." Bri-Spot recalls with a gleam in his eye and a smile on his face, "it was what I listened to, it was what motivated me to get better, because I knew I had these other talents that I could share."
So at the age of 14, unable to chase one of his 'lifelong' dreams, Bri-Spot decided to get back into the music industry.
The name "Bri-Spot" was derived from the nickname "B-Spot" that was given to him by long-time friend/producer Rick "RJ" Long, and Jason Alexander (Seinfeld).
Bri-Spot was working in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with So-Flyy Entertainment, later disbanding in late 2003 citing creative differences. "I want to do a little bit of everything, my music taste is extremely wide-spread, and I want my music to showcase how diverse I am" he adds.
In 2004/05, Bri-Spot was named one of the Top Up & Coming Hip Hop/R&b Stars by America Online.
In 2007, Bri-Spot's at-that-time debut single "Dance 4 Me" was leaked to clubs in the midwest. After receiving quite a bit of play & positive feedback, the song & following album were shelved by Bri-Spot himself, "I just didn't feel like that song represented who I wanted to be in music. It was fun, but it in no way was my best work - I just couldn't have that be what I'm remembered for."
These days, Bri-Spot is busy in the studio writing, collaborating, rapping, singing, and producing. This talented songwriter has lent his words to many up-and-coming artists' projects as he plays with just the right ingredients to make his next album; "Full Service" a complete success.
The fact that he's been able to garner both male and female fans without a commercially released album indicates he's touching a nerve out there. "I want to be multi-faceted. I want people to respect my success, but I also want to be free to be who I am. I'm talking about projects beyond the music business, as well. One of the things I hope to do some day is open up a youth center. It's always been one of my goals. I also have thought about living outside of this country for awhile, I've thought about Japan or Europe. I love it here, but I want to explore other cultures."
Always willing to experiment, Bri-Spot has never been limited by boundaries, especially self imposed ones. His debut album further reveals the dynamics behind the image. "I'm always going to surprise you," he says. "But it's always going to be me. Always."
