About Me

.... ..I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!

..Who me? Ok, my friend Skel' told me I'd be cool if I put up a MySpace page, so here I am.Job-wise, I'm an architect in the teeming metropolis of Columbia. People thing it's a glamorous profession, but it definitely isn't. Mostly it's a pain, and chocked full of people who think they know your job better than you. It has some satisfying moments, but they are few and far between. When not doing that or yardwork, I like to work out at Gold's gym on Harbison, do aikido, read, movies, anime, science fiction, Manifest, Inukaya, and stuff like that! :)

My Interests

Reading, writing, working out, racquetball, aikido, anime, home improvement (unwillingly), architecture, anthropology, politics...

I'd like to meet:

Aliens of any kind, I'm not picky....Henry Rollins, Bill Clinton -- the best president by far in my lifetime, and STILL working toward ending poverty and curing disease through the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI).

Music:

Godsmack, Sting, Johnny Cash, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, (very old) Genesis, Iggy Pop, Frank Zappa, Niel Young, David Sylvian, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, TSOL, Brahms, Bartok, Miles Davis, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Perry Ferrell, Jane's Addiction, Porno for Pyros, The Cult, Screaming Trees, Bob Marley, RHCP, Primus, Gorillaz, the RZA, Adrian Belew, Henry Rollins, King Crimson, Mudhoney, Alice in Chains, Lou Reed, Janis Joplin, The 3-D Invisibles, Laurie Anderson, Pink Floyd, Faith No More, Ennio Morricone, Fields of the Nephilim, Soundgarden, Biff Naked, Rollins Band,

Movies:

Bladerunner, Brazil, Raising Arizona, At Play in the Fields of the Lord, Black Robe, Dr. Strangelove, Alien, Aliens, Star Wars, all Bruce Lee, all Jet Li, all Quentin Tarantino, 5 Deadly Venoms, The Lathe of Heaven, Red Sun, Dark Star, Educating Rita, The Quick and the Dead, all Sergio Leone, most Oliver Stone, Forbidden Planet, Return of the Deadly Alien Spawn, Return of the Living Dead (more brains!), The Blues Brothers, Trading Places, Coming to America, The Shawshank Redemption, V for Vendetta, Pan's Labyrinth, 300,

Television:

I'm addicted to Naruto, One Piece, The Daily Show (best show in the world!), The Henry Rollins Show (also the best show in the world), The Colbert Report and Frontline. I used to be way into "24". My friends love "Lost" but it sounds like it would drive me crazy!I was also way into The Prisoner, Red Dwarf, and Dr. Who.

Books:

Science Fiction: Prayers to Broken Stones, Dune, Hyperion, The Lensmen Series, The Foundation Trilogy, The Lathe of Heaven, all Dan Simmons, all Ursula Leguin, all Gene Wolfe, Bruce Sterling and Michael Swanwick. Political: Deterring Democracy, World Orders Old and New, The Assassins' Gate, Who Will Tell the People Misc: Out of Control, Jihad vs. McWorld, Art & Science Science: Natural Life, The Flamingoe's Smile

Heroes:

An interesting excersize is to build your very own Mt. Rushmore in your mind. Who would you have on it?I'm thinking, Carl Sagan, for one. Cosmos was an awesome program that really communicated how incredible the world and our universe really is. I maintain there's more God in one episode of Cosmos than in all the houses of worship in the world. You can't understand God, but you can grasp parts of the world He (perhaps) created.Another would be MLK. That sounds cheesy, but really, anyone who can bring the world forward philosophically has done something practically impossible given mankind's generally contentious and greedy nature. So yeah, MLK.I'm still working on the others. But that's a start ^^

More Proof Bush Lied...as if you still had any doubt ;(

False Pretenses Following 9/11, President Bush and seven top officials of his administration waged a carefully orchestrated campaign of misinformation about the threat posed by Saddam Hussein's Iraq....

Bill Maher for President! I WISH I had HBO

A pithy observation from Bill Maher -- In his new ad Mitt Romney warns us that Islamic terrorists are the worse threat we've ever faced. More then the Nazis? The Russians? The Red Coats? He warns us ...

Food for thought -- Iraq by the numbers. Brace yourself.

655,000: Iraqi deaths a Johns-Hopkins study attributed to the war nine months ago. 2770: Iraqi civilians killed in May 2007, according to government reports. (Actual figure unknown because the Iraqi g...

Fanfiction

One of the many anime shows I like is Naruto.  It's a fun, operatic story about ninjas, spies, spirits, and the lead character's quest to become Hokage. Anyway, I wrote a very short fanfiction ca...

Northern Illinois (formerly Virginia Tech) Massacre -- let's cut the crap

When I was younger I might have ranted about the drastic need for gun control, but no longer.  Being much more cynical, I accept that our country is controlled by bloodthirsty rednecks who are co...

The Pope

I'm not anti-Catholic by any means, but the conclave's selection of Pope Benedict was the most cowardly act in human history. The Church -- the most well-funded, well-organized and widespread religion...

You, Me and the "TSP"

Ever since a federal judge in Detroit ruled against the Bush regime on the matter of the government spying on it's citizens, the irony has flown thick and fast. To preface, I am completely and totally...

Pat Robertson (Hey, man nice shot!)

This is more of a humorous observation. When I saw the Pat Robertson in Israel, anxiously awaiting the End of Days with the perverted glee that he and his army of christo-fascists have wet dreams abou...

Hillary Clinton: pod person

Everyone, especially the right-wingers, expect and fear that Hillary (who they've called HITLER-y for years!) Clinton is going to run for and possibly win the presidency.  As politically left as ...

Here Lies John McCain

I always liked the senior senator from the great state of Arizona.  Though I rarely agreed with his party or politics, I recognized that he was a bona-fide war hero who'd served his country with ...
