About Me

Tait Nalley picked up his dads 1967 Fender acoustic guitar at age 13. He taught himself to play and by 15 he recorded an album (City Of Nothing) and sold it around his high school like a fundraising maniac. The CD was a blend of acoustic lullabies and mid-puberty background screams. After moving to LA at 18, he teamed up with Alex Camacho, who had a much more folk background. They released many albums such as "Color Blue", "Mistakes Sound Better", and their last album, "We're On Fire". Their sound grew to what most would call "electronic folk". Alex later left the band to focus more on his other project, Lonely Astromen. All hope seemed lost. Never Play Instruments was no more. The dry spell lasted almost a year, until Tait grabbed his old keyboard and his old G4 and began recording more songs. Swaying away from the folk and taking a whole new direction, "What Was I Doing?" is now in the works. It contains low-fi hums and a few beats from Monstre. "I'm taking my time on this one," says Tait, "I've lost my brain. I don't really know what I like anymore, so this album is more about exploring."
