Love God. Love people. Nothing else matters.

About Me

I am a young woman full of dreams and visions (got some of that Biblical Joel action happening) and hoping some day to fulfill them. I know that God has something planned for me; right now, I'm every day learning how to become a better human being and servant of God. This includes working through my "issues." It's great fun...er, yeah. Really, though, I am excited to see what this time in my life does to make me a more godly and beautiful woman. We'll just have to see.
I already have a blog going in the wonderful world of livejournal. It gets updated way more often than this one. For any who care to meander over that way, here's the addy: http://www.livejournal.com/users/springdove
about pictures (credit where credit is due): only one of the pictures in my profile was taken by me. credit: "mattie cat" and "bridesmaids"--my friend joie; "florida caverns grounds"--my friend danny; "mattie fishing"--my friend mark; "VSU West Hall" and "I like the angle..."-- VSU University Relations ; "my favorite pic"--me; "You Can't Take it With You"--Linda Stikkel of Theatre Guild Valdosta; and "me, looking and feeling good"--Fran Lundell of VSU Alumni Association.

My Interests

Life, the Universe, and Everything

I'd like to meet:

Human beings and/or cats. Or especially human being WITH cats. ;) Actually, I think it's fun to meet people and converse with them on various subjects. I also think it's cool to keep up with people from past bits of my life and know about the cool things happening in their lives, like weddings, births, removal of moles, etc. ;)

Music:

Yes please. As much as possible. Only spare me gangsta rap and most forms of country. Anything else is pretty much a-ok. This includes, but is not limited to, Caedmon's Call, Aaron Copland, Rachmaninoff, Deliriou5?, Burlap to Cashmere, Salvador, Norah Jones, Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans, Ennio Morricone, Switchfoot, any worship music from my college days (and good stuff from back in the day and nowadays), folksy stuff (like Peter, Paul, and Mary), and John Denver. Among others.

Movies:

I like serious ones as well as funny ones as well as action ones as well as ones that make me feel kidlike again. These include, but are not entirely limited to, Pete's Dragon, Newsies, Terminator 2, LOTR trilogy, The Emperor's New Groove, Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail, The Princess Bride, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1 and 2), Air Force One, The Family Guy, Fantasia, The Matrix (though it's been ages since I saw it), Star Wars I-VI, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Mary Poppins, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Ever After, Love Actually...I'll stop there. If I think of something truly remarkable, I'll list that, too. :)

Television:

Sometimes when I have the time.

Books:

Too many to count. I enjoy most everything and often go through fits of wanting certain kinds of books to feed my hungry mind. Not enough time to read recently, but I have my eye on about 10 different books I'd LIKE to be reading. Actually, I'm one of those who will read a cereal box in the mornings just to have something to read. Currently on my bookshelf (among many others): LOTR trilogy w/The Hobbit, Anne of Green Gables seven book series, Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time series, CS Lewis's space trilogy and The Chronicles of Narnia, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter books, Tales from Grimm and Andersen, the complete Far Side collection, and some books from certain college courses which I enjoyed. If you want to know more about my readings, ask me!

Heroes:

Jesus; Mother Teresa; Gandhi; Martin Luther King, Jr.
