Some people call me "Dave", some people call me "JD". I grew up in Western Kentucky where I developed a love for percussion in my early teens and later picked up guitar in the late 80's. You could find me playing in garage bands and skating half-pipes everyday in the summer of my youth. Those were the days. I went to Murray State University for Electrical Engineering but later decided that wasn't my cup of tea. The idea of me being trapped in a factory everyday frightened me.
In addition to my technical classes I also enrolled in art and photography courses. My father worked for a nuclear plant splitting atoms until his retirement and also enjoyed photography as a hobby. He would always tell me, "make sure the occupation you choose is something you actually like to do". Soooo, I packed my bags and moved to Lexington to play in bands with my friends. A few of the bands include,
"The Grizzly River Rampage" (vocals/guitar)
"The Struts" (drums)
and
"The Last Chances" (drums). images coming soon!
Those were honestly the best days of my life but you gotta pay your bills.
I decided to go back to college to learn video production. I now work for a production company in Lexington and pursue still photography as a side project. Some of my job aspects are traveling with the NCAA basketball tournament, providing video support for The KY Derby, various horse sales around the Atlantic, and working with film crews producing a movie for The Kentucky Horse Park. Check out the rest of my page to learn more about "Dave" or, er, "JD".
