ELEKTRIZIDAD was formed in the late part of 2002. Current members Jimmy Pena, Chris Strunk, Jon McGraw,Toribio Flores. Elektricidad is known for their variety of music: Tejano, Norteno, Reggaeton, Conjunto. Elektricidad has played throughout Michigan, from as far East as Port Huron MI, to as far West as Ludington MI, and making stops in-between. Pontiac, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Holland, Detroit, Luna Pier just to name a few. They have also traveled outside of the state, which includes Ohio and Indiana. Elektricidad recorded their 1st CD "Hasta La Muerte" in San Antonio TX at Maximum Studios, owned by Max Baca, Bajo/Sexto player and originator of the Tex-Maniacs. Elektricidad was honored to have Jerry De La Rosa, Gilbert Velasquez, Jorge Alejandro, Pete Ybarra, Armando Velasquez, Aaron Holler, and Max Baca, sit in as guest musicians on the CD. The CD is being mastered, and produced by Oscar Garcia of ARCO G Records. "Hasta La Muerte" will be available in Late May. Elektricidad has shared the stage with artists and groups, which include, David De Anda y La Ley, Montu, Rodeo, Eddie Gonzales, Sonora Dinamita, Banda Limon, Grupo Perveso, Los Humildes, Michael Salgado, Elektricidad members include: Jimmy Pena (Manager, and Drummer), Chris Strunk (Accordion, Keyboards, Bajo/Sexto, Guitar, Drums, Bass, and 2nd Vocals), Jon McGraw (Bajo/Sexto, Guitar, and Vocals),and the newest member of the group Toribio Flores (Bass, and Lead Vocals).
