About Me

One of the first things that you'll learn about me is that I love motorcycles. I love everything about them. I have a 1999 Ducati Monster 900s for thestreet and a 2003 Suzuki SV for the track. Both are pretty far from stock. I'm not afraid of turning a wrench on them, either. My poor neglected cage, a2005 Subaru WRX STi, keeps me from falling asleep when I do have to cage it. I started riding in 2004 and started doing track days in 2007. When I firststarted riding, I had no idea what I was getting into. I fully admit that getting the Ducati for my first bike was a dumb choice, seeing as I was afraid ofthe thing for the first bit. Then I learned the key to calming my nerves: saddle time. Now I love both my bikes to death.
I have my gigantic GSD-looking mutt. For work, I'm a professionalgEEk. I have a brain, and I'm not afraid to use it.
BTW, if anyone knows how to fix the magical disappearing DML contact table, please PM me with the fix!

A great loss to the DC area Ducati community

Bill Bowen, one of our good friends, died on 6 July 2008.  He was out doing what he loved: riding his 1999 Ducati Monster City.  He was always a very safe rider, and it appeared it was a med...

firing up all the motors

I had to go about 30 miles away from home to pick up some brake pads from a fellow STi owner (yay free used pads!), but it was going to be right around the time that Friday afternoon traffic is starti...

Jack’s first thunderstorm at home again

Jack survived his first thunderstorm since we got him back early last December.  We got a series of pretty active thunderstorms this morning and afternoon that rolled through Alexandria.  Ja...

Review of 2 up ride with Scott Harwell

I spectated at the spring Mid Atlantic Ducati track days at VIR North since I couldn't commit money in time to secure a slot for myself.  I finally did sell my rental property, but by then it was...

Squidding it up

So while Stillie was in TX I decided that his poor neglected GSX-R 1000 needed to stretch its legs just a little.  It was definitely an interesting experience.  I’ve never ridden a bik...

Miracles do actually happen sometimes

Some of you may know that my sweet mutt, Jack, ran away 5 months ago.  After seeing just how many big black German shepherds are out there, I was starting to lose hope I'd ever find my Jack again...

Track day report: Ducati Days Fall 2007

(Sorry this has taken so long to get posted, but I wanted to make sure I didn't rush it.) This was my first ever track day. I've been riding on the street since the beginning of Fall 2004 and ride eve...
