5 SONG EP COMING SOON!!!!

About Me

As the storm draws near, the wind kicks up and the sky becomes dark with repressed hostility as the fury is about to be unleashed. This time the storm takes over, just like Pound Drive, an intense groove oriented fusion rock trio from the depths of Flint, Mi. Ranked third on the statisticly taken annual crime report, these guys from Flint know extremely well how brutal the city life can be. Struggling day to day in a town where not much seems to improve, the economy in a downward spiral, and wars of uncertainty, PD takes into account the hardships and problems faced daily as part of the songwriting process, giving fans something they can relate to. From days of hard work resulting in the catchy tune "Time Out" to the seriousness of "Red" which salutes the men and women in Iraq to the creepy "Peepin' Tom" these guys leave no subject out of bounds bringing modern day woes to the forefront and making people aware of what is really happening in the world.
From dark grinding grooves to catchy hooks, Pound Drive is taking the stage by storm, infecting unprotected ears with sounds of tomorrow, mixing styles and creating a sound all their own. While remaining a cutting edge band, focus is intent on delivering a great song with melodies, metal riffs, infectious bass, SOLOS! and an honest message. The outcome is evident, forging solid songs from the blood, sweat, and tears of dedication that this band proudly exemplifies. Pound Drive has stood the test of time, with old favorites still ahead of its time, good music never dies and the guys in PD can atest to that. With major challenges, obstacles, lineup changes, and unbelievers the band has stood up every time and tackled the opposition. It is this dependability and honor that keeps everything going despite what is going on around them. "We will never sell out or try to keep up with other bands, we play what we want to hear and we rock the hell out of it!", says lead guitarist Mark Hawkins. His chops get better and better and you'll never know what he'll play next, keeping things fresh, interesting and somewhat diabolical. His crushing sound has been evolving for years throughout many different guitars, racks, and amps and has come full force into a razor splitting carnage, yet he can also play the slickest jazz at the drop of a dime. "Regardless, we will rock regardless!", notoriously and frequently used by bassist Kevin Rodvil. This man has faced trial and tribulation from Amsterdam to North Carolina to Michigan and he relentlessly exorcises it at every show. With influences ranging from Geddy Lee, John Entwistle, to Les Claypool, it is no wonder he is a solid integral part of the PD sound. Ant Howell rounds out the pocket pounding the skins, unleashing powerful and precise beats, bordering the boundaries between human and machine. So relaxed in the pocket, Ant can belt out unbelievable vocals when called upon. Those from Flint know exactly who he is. His roots are planted firmly, paying homage to heroes such as Buddy Rich and Neil Peart. Currently, the band is performing as a 3 piece, adding vocals to their already overstuffed plate. Also an EP is in the works and is currently slated for an August 2008 release.
