I tear my heart open,
I sew myself shut
My weakness is
that I care too much
And our scars remind us
that the past is real
I tear my heart open just to feel
I am always interested in meeting new artistic minds. My personal creative outlet is poetry, but I have friends in almost every possible field. I love discussing art and the creative process. I have learned over the years that though the mediums may differ very greatly, many of the paths remain the same. However, I am also a very busy student, so as rude as it sounds, I do not have time for non-artistic people. I do read profiles before approving or denying new friends. I believe that if art is in your heart, it will be on your profile. So just to summarize: "Who I'd like to meet:..." Artists of all walks of life and no one else. Oh...except for Freydis Eriksdottir, but she's been dead for a few hundred years and I imagine she isn't quite so interesting any more.
Everyone's Friend in the End:
Nick Cave... dark and creepy. You're a bi-polar genius, with equal passion for the most degrading aspects of humanity, as well as the beauty & wonder of God and Heaven.
I love good music, but sometimes that can be hard to find. I insist that music be art and for that you have to put some of yourself in it.
I love a lot of movies. Art direction is really important to me. My favorite genres are sci-fi, fantasy, and vampire. Blade Runners is pretty amazing.Sin City was the best of 2005. I also love dark comedies. Like I said in the begining, I love a lot of movies. If you want to know more, ask.
The Simpsons, Beastmaster, Charmed, Buffy, Angel, Family Guy, Forever Knight, That's 80s Show, Voltron, you get the jest of it... same as movies. And to add to both, I like anything that questions or attacks accepted social morality.
The Princess Bride, Memnoch the Devil, House of Leaves, Icelandic Sagas, good old weird tales, philosophy, what normal anthropology majors read.
My mom. And anyone else who can take what they are given and form it into what they need.
Unsung heros. Like Dorian Newberry from Disturbing Behavior. He saved them all and got almost no credit. "Do good things, lunch boy."
