"Life is Beautiful" is the first album released by North Carolina based indie artist Rose Fraser. It is a collection of songs written over the past decade by the singer/guitarist. Over the course of twelve tracks she sings about lost love and sailors ("Bijou"), soured relationships ("Blue Dress"), Jesus ("Compassion") and the death of a friend (in the tribute, "Lost Letter to Seamus"). Throughout the album the steady rhythms of guitar pair with player piano and organ, electric guitar, hand percussion and funky bass. Her lush vocals finish this first effort with the jazzy acappella favorite, the title track "Life is Beautiful". Rose was raised between the far north of Michigan and "Music City", Nashville, Tennessee. She grew up listening to her mother sing in church and her father recalling the folk music of the 60's and70's on his acoustic guitar. By the age of 6 Rose had begun writing short poems. She took up piano, then violin, and finally at age 13, the guitar. This is when she wrote her first song. Writing songs was an emotional outlet for the young songstress as she battled painful shyness, secretly writing and playing for hours behind a closed door. In her early twenties Rose decided to try an open mike night to test the waters of performing. She was surprised to find it to be a natural and exhilarating experience. The audiences felt the same way about her. Since the spring of 2005 she has been performing both locally and regionally, mostly as a solo performer. With the release of her first album, Rose is ready to share her stories and secrets. All nature photography provided by Denise Busley ~ TrulyBlissed.com.. Myspace Layout Generator-Layoutgen.com
