About Me

i'm the e train in queens...

My Interests

Film and music are my undisputed loves. I'm married to both. I can't live without either. Restaurants are another love of mine. I'm on a never ending quest to find the perfect meal with the perfect wine in the perfect atmosphere. In my short lifetime, I only found it once; in Barcelona... I have an insatiable curiosity for anything that catches my attention and I want to know every little thing about it. I'm thorough like that. I think I need to rediscover my love of running and all things athletic...

I'd like to meet:

Myself when I was 5.

Music:

CURRENT MUSICAL OBSESSION: FRENCH EDM.

Electronic Dance Music will always be near and dear to my heart. I still find the art of DJing very fascinating. Lately I've been rediscovering the rock'n'roll that my mother would listen to on CBSFM when she would drop me off at elementary school. I've branched off from there. Throw in some hip hop, classical, blues, jazz, and salsa for good measure. Here we go, off the top of my head...and cheating a bit from my iTunes:
DJs and Producers: Danny Tenaglia, Danny Howells, Sander Kleinenberg, Erick Morillo, James Holden, Roger Sanchez, Richie Hawtin, Lee Burridge, Misstress Barbra, Quivver, Nic Fanciulli, MSTRKRFT, Gorgio Moroder, Sasha, John Digweed, DJ Rolando, Jeff Mills, Steve Porter, Junkie XL, Infusion, John 00 Fleming, Michael Meyer, Josh Wink, Faithless......SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO, Junior Senior, Chromeo, Justice, Digitalism, Thomas Bangalter or anything by Daft Punk for that matter...
Hip Hop (apologies if this looks dated. I haven't really listened to hip hop since high school...and apparently I've been told I haven't missed much): Chino XL, Big L, Biggie, Jay-Z, Thurston Howl III, Almost everything Wu Tang-related, 2Pac, Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Jeru The Damaja, Rakim, Redman, Mos Def, Big Pun, The Fugees, Gangstarr...
Rock (Apologies again for the dated look. I really have no good reason...): The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, CCR, The Mamas & the Papas, Martha and the Vandellas, Beach Boys, Elton John, Bob Dylan, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, The Delfonics, The Isley Brothers, Al Green, Earth Wind & Fire, Curtis Mayfield, Nina Simone, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Eric Clapton, ELO, James Brown, Barry White, New Order, Michael Jackson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, White Stripes, CYHSY, The Killers, Coldplay...
As for the rest: ...nevermind...you'll be here reading this for awhile.

Movies:

Uhmmm...I'll pass on this one as well...just come over my place and check out the collection...

Television:

The West Wing (The Aaron Sorkin Seasons), The Sopranos (pitch perfect ending), Family Guy, Molto Mario, Iron Chef, Nigella Feasts, Barefoot Contessa, Entourage, Modern Marvels, Charlie Rose, Real Sports (Bryant Gumbel is probably my personal savior...he's probably not), and half the stuff on Ovation.

Books:

I finally got around to reading this Chabon book about this Sam Clay guy...

Heroes:

"We walk in circles, so limited by our own anxieties that we can no longer distinguish between true and false, between the gangster's whim and the purest ideal."
"I want very much to tell, to talk about, the wholeness inside every human being. It's a strange thing that every human being has a sort of dignity or wholeness in him, and out of that develops relationships to other human beings, tensions, misunderstandings, tenderness, coming in contact, touching and being touched, the cutting off of a contact and what happens then."
RIP Ingmar Bergman
