About Me

The video below was recorded live at the High Barn Great Bardfield in March 2006- The song is Breakable Thread. Enjoy! www.high-barn.com
Get this video and more at MySpace.comThis video was recorded live at House concerts York- The song is called "Not About Love" written by Anna and perfromed live.Having grown up with bands rehearsing in her home, guitars, keyboards and pieces of music kit in every corner, its not surprising that Anna picked up her first guitar at 12, and started writing songs. She now plays piano and keyboards and has assisted in producing her own music in her home studio. Oh and mustn't forget to mention she is also a classically trained flautist! With the most beautiful, pure and unique voice, it wasn’t long before she was being asked to play venues all over the country. Frustratingly Anna was still only 14 and confined to a few shows in and around her Essex locale. She finally hit the ripe old age of 15 and began playing bigger local shows with the odd trip to play in London when her parents were available to take her. At the same time Anna spent as much time as she could spare teaching herself both the piano and keyboards and started producing her own demo’s in a small home-studio her dad had built for himself in a room at the back of the families garage. Doing what most clever young performers were doing at the time, Anna set up her own website and Myspace site and uploaded the songs she had recorded onto the two promotional platforms. Those early songs, recorded on basic equipment at home, became the songs that started to garner more and more interest from key people in the music industry and soon after got Anna invited to play Britain’s premier new music showcase –Manchester’s ‘In The City’ Music Conference. Anna played a storming 30 minute set to a packed out crowd at the Warchild Acoustic Showcase and following that was chosen as a ‘Best of ITC’ in Music Week who described her as ‘Filling a similar space to early Alanis and Joni Mitchell’.With soulful and honest lyrics that come straight from the heart, Anna is truly one of the most gifted young songwriters in Britain today. She is now developing her own unique sound and working with an impressive list of producers and songwriters including Steve Robson, Peter Vetesse, Chris Braide, and Gary Kemp on yet more material. This will be an album worth waiting for.Life for Anna is just getting busier and busier and she's loving every minute of it! Her musical career has only just begun and wow what a beginning! "In a similar space to early Joni Mitchel and Alanis Morisette" Music Week

“Chapman is undoubtedly a talented singer, with an impressive vocal range, and a markedly English accent. It becomes clear within a few moments that Chapman has been doing this for quite some time; her control over her sound is absolute, and the whole room were entranced by her voice"
Joe Innes Live @The Raynor Lounge, Sheffield Student Union

"I had the pleasure of meeting Anna Leddra-Chapman on the 'The Session' Link FM this afternoon. For such a young lady to captivate the audience in the studio the way she did is an amazing talent. Her personality is reflected in her music; she has a grace that is not often found in someone of her age and she is simply a class act personally and professionally. Kris Graham Link FM 101.4
