I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Things about me... Sometimes I am known to procrastinate. I believe in love at first sight but I don't know that I've ever experienced it. I played volleyball in middle school and was not that good at it. I like to make sleepy time mixes to fall asleep to. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from college. I really don't like meatloaf, and cucumbers are disgusting to me unless they have a lot of hot sauce on them and come from a street vendor. I once cartwheeled into a pile of poop. I am 90% convinced that I couldn't date anyone who didn't have at least slightly similar taste in music. If I could have one super power it would be the ability to find lost things. It took me less then 3 months to scratch my very first brand new car. I could shoot the shit about politics, etc for hours. I feel sexiest sleeping in silk slips. I like to feel like I don't need anyone but like having a ton of friends. If I could give you one piece of advice it would be to always buy a warranty on a camera. I fire-dance. Sometime I am too lazy to replace the liner in the trashcan but not too lazy to walk to the other room to throw something away. I am a muse for luck. I have constructed an entire 17th century dress all on my own. I once thought I saw Santa Claus as a child. I'm not Catholic anymore but I still carry around a guardian angel key chain blessed by a priest everywhere I go. I am reluctant to take medicine. I'm a big flirt. I've journaled since I was in the 3rd grade. I believe in everything in moderation. I would never do high school again but I would give another crack at college. I'm worried that if I can't make my daisies live I will never be able to handle children. I like to treat myself to fresh flowers and pedicures. I do laundry once every other week. I love wearing dresses. I like buying my food at farmer's markets. I'm a daddy's girl but I talk to my mother more. I love to sleep but firmly believe in staying up for something I deem better then sleep. My eyes change color with whatever I am wearing. I've got three cavities and never needed braces. I like hand-me-down jewelry better then the new stuff. I'm a romantic at heart. I kinda dig astrology. I believe in a God, but have no clue as to the nature of said deity. I swear by colloidal silver and tea tree oil. I really dislike dusting."The real miracle of life is when you are no longer intoxicated by praise or depressed by being unappreciated." -Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith

My Interests

I like dancing. A lot. The three magazines I subscribe to are Paste, Bitch and The Sun. Traveling is a way of life for me. I would love to have a lot of money - but money basically just means freedom to me. So in essence I am interested in a lot of personal freedom. It is fair enough to say that I have quite the interest in acting. If I had the money to buy supplies and the time I would paint like there is no tomorrow. I try not to be a snob about too much except tequila. I like good tequila. Oh and steak - but I mean come on I'm from the midwest. Cow central. What do you expect? Other things: quiet time on the beach, a clear day driving on Lincoln when I can see all of the hills and I forget that I am in a smog-infested city, nontraditional poetry, Indian food, foreign films, "artsy" people, cute old couples, dice, worn-in jeans, thrift stores, facials, big dogs, soccer players, Cadburry eggs, pinball, new sunglasses and oddly enough family gatherings.Check out this artist. It's pretty amazing. http://www.chrisjordan.com/current_set2.php

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet a bulgarian beer making monk. I'd like to meet a Zen priest. I'd like to meet someone who has been on the moon and someone who has been to the bottom of the ocean. I want to meet a prize-winning pole dancer. I want to meet a Green Party politician. I want to meet Laura Linney. I want to meet Nicky Silver. I want to meet the ghost of my great Grandpa Summer. I'd like to meet the inventor of the stapler. I'd like to meet the offspring of an Australian bushman and a french socialite. I'd like to meet a cello player. I'd like to meet a psychologist who believes in astrology. I'd still like to meet a lion tamer . . .

Music:

I am an avid consumer of music. I think my life can even be summed up in musical cliff notes. I would love it if I could have a soundtrack for my life. Just kind of hanging out in the background like. Except in scary situations. I mean I freak myself out a lot and to think something is after me b/c I've got teaser background music would not be good. In any event, if this were the case you could express some of my feelings about things with these songs: My career - I Was Meant for the Stage by the Decemberists; My love life - Keep It Loose, Keep It Tight - Amos Lee; My viseral love life - I'm Not a Virgin Anymore by Poe; Traffic - The Horror by RJD2; LA - Windsurfing Nation by Broken Social Scene; How I feel about myself - Toss up between Not a Pretty Girl or 32 Flavors by Ani DiFranco; Life in General - Ice Cream by New Young Pony Club . .. . most recent addictions . . . Adele, The Heavy, new Black Keys album www.coachella.com

Movies:

I love so many movies it would be rediculous to try and name them all. Mostly my criteria for liking a movie is how much it makes me "feel" afterwards. If I have my mood changed or for a split second I see my world through the eyes of the movie I just watched that is when it is all disco. I mostly am into indie flixs but I really do like a lot of everything. Except horror. I don't do horror films. But my dad did raise me on John Wayne. All time favorites: 1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 2. Pulp Fiction 3. Love Actually 4. Big Labowski 5. High Fidelity 6. When Harry Met Sally 7. City of God 8. He Loves Me He Loves Me Not 9. Juno 10. Reality Bites; Most recent Movie Watched - Michael Clayton

Television:

Heroes, Flight of the Conchords, CNN Headline News, Mind of Mencia, Project Runway, Bionic Woman, Weeds, Family Guy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Randy Jackson Present's America's Top Dance Crew, Robot Chicken, The History Channel, The Discovery Channel

Books:

The Alchamist, Les Miserables, Zeitgeist, Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Four Agreements, Kite Runner, Egalia's Daughters; Most Recent Read - How We Are Hungry by Dave Eggers

Heroes:

Katharine Hepburn, my parents
