Born and raised in the small town of Anniston, Alabama, this underground hype-xpert is not only giving the South something to be proud of, but he is giving the world of Hip-Hop something to think about. His lyrics keep it gansta, and make no mistake - Kalako is one of the "trillest" rappers in the game.
Coming from the South was already a challenge in itself, but this young Hip-Hop phenomenon overcame a great number of adversities to make certain that the name "Kalako" would someday be a name to be reckoned with. Unlike many of today's artists who are merely performers of someone else's songs, Kalako writes his own lyrics, and he flips it, twists it, and spits it like no other.
Kalako signed to Atlanta-based, PowerSource Entertainment (PSE) in early 2003. Since signing with PSE, Kalako has performed at numerous locations across the country (some with his label-mate, Jay-El). Those venues include various clubs and other venues in the PSE home-base of Atlanta, Georgia, as well as several spots across the country such as Anniston, AL; Montgomery, AL; Birmingham, AL; Tuscaloosa, AL; Columbus, GA; Fort Valley, GA; Augusta, GA; Chattanooga, TN; Memphis, TN; Meriden, CT; Florence, SC; Myrtle Beach, SC; Charlotte, NC; Tallahassee, FL; Jacksonville, FL; and Los Angeles, CA. Kalako has opened shows or performed with David Banner, Crime Mobb, Trill Ville, I-20 of DTP, Trina, Lil Flip, Trick Daddy, Goodie Mobb, Baby D, Throwback Boyz, Tango Red, Bohagun, Chopper from Body Head Entertainment (formerly with No Limit Records), Roy Jones, Jr. , Oh Sp Crispie, S-Dub, Young Dro, and Gucci Mane. Now it's time for Kalako to shine on his own. Soon, everyone will know why they call him, "The Pro"!
The Music Industry will not have to wait for Kalako's 17-track full-length CD to drop to hear his prolific verses. Kalako's debut album which is entitled (of course) The Pro, hit the streets, the stores, and the Internet on October 31, 2006. "The Pro" will become the next great rap album that is destined to develop into a classic among true Hip-Hop heads and music lovers alike. K-Pro is serving up not just the same ol' beats with one line, repetitive hooks, but head-bangin' cuts that have real music laced with Kalako's incomparable and uncompromised flow. Kalako's first single with east coast flava, One For The Money, charted on 15 different record pools across the country including Orlando, New York, Chicago, Detroit, Connecticut, Pittsburgh, Charlotte, NC, and Huntsville, AL.
