We Man Records was born in the year 2000. It is the brainchild of longtime musician Rico Lewis and his cousin Bennie Patterson. We Man represents the alter egos of both Rico and Bennie, symbolizing the struggle and the hustle both had to endure in order to turn their dreams to reality. "We are in this together, Man," they promised one another from jump. Hence, the name We Man.In 2000, they signed Blackedout Camp, their first group, which went on to open many shows for the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, George Clinton. Blackedout Camp sold over 1,000 CDs through the hustle of independent distribution while playing at many legendary venues. They were a huge success among college age music listeners. The leadership and guidance of both Rico and Bennie were instrumental in the development of this talented group of artists.Since then, We Man has bolstered its roster with many talented solo artists while garnering critical acclaim as "The Motown of the New Millenium." We Man Records strives to leave an indelible mark on the music industry in the United States and all over the world through its musical mastery, laced lyrics, and powerful production.
