Staples Center

Sports and Entertainment Center of the World!

About Me

Since its opening on October 17, 1999, The Los Angeles Staples Center has established a reputation as one of the world's leading sports and entertainment venues. It is home to five professional sports franchises - NHL's Kings, NBA's Lakers and Clippers, WNBA's Sparks and AFL's Avengers. It is the largest indoor entertainment venue in Los Angeles, featuring 20,000 seats, multiple levels of luxury suites, club seating, a theme restaurant and an NBA practice court. It has also become a venue of choice for various events of glitz, glamour and global significance. These include concerts by the world's top musical artists, the Grammy Awards, NHL and NBA All-Star events, US Figure Skating Championships, World Championship Boxing and the Democratic National Convention (2000).Along STAPLES Center's five concourses are 23 refreshment stands offering a variety of dining choices including the City View Grill, a one-of-a-kind outdoor dining experience with a spectacular view of the downtown Los Angeles skyline. The FOX Sports Box, a 300-seat sports bar/restaurant, is open daily and can be found along the main concourse adjacent to TEAM LA, a retail store offering merchandise from Los Angeles' seven professional sports teams. The state of the art production and entertainment features of the Staples Center make it an excellent choice for major concerts and special events. Bruce Springsteen was the first Event at the Staples Center on Sunday, October 17, 1999.
