About Me

Freshwater Collins' music is a perfect reflection of the diverse backgrounds of its artists, resulting in a sound that is both as emotional as it is captivating. Calling on a wide range influences from The Flaming Lips to Hank Williams to Curtis Mayfield has resulted in a soulful form of alternative rock from the upper Midwest.
Freshwater Collins are currently working very hard on their new album "So Much For Livin," and playing select Midwestern shows before touring extensively (yet again) in 2007.
In the meantime, feel free to purchase (several copies) of their latest album release "These Days Lately". The band worked on the record with renowned producer Mike Hoffmann (Violent Femmes, The Verve Pipe) for over a year to create this album.
Freshwater Collins are also building momentum through spirited live performances throughout the country, having shared the stage with Robert Plant, Steve Earle, The Jayhawks, Will Hoge, Bob Schneider, Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers, as well as major festival performances alongside The Flaming Lips, My Morning Jacket, The Go! Team, The Black Crows, and Kings of Leon. "These Days Lately" is out now - go pick it up at your favorite record store or use the link below.

Sounds Like: SOME PRESS

"If you're into taking stock of new bands or like us have a slight obsession with saying you saw certain bands way back when, well this could very well be one of them. After all, does anyone remember early Kings of Leon? Ok Go? Musically and fundamentally the same, but the look, the edge, the draw - completely different. There were some good people out last night cocking their head slightly to the side checking out this band and espcially lead singer Chris Vos. Maybe LAist is about to enter a rock phase? Well, that might be pushing it, but after such a long absence, it was nice not to feel cynical about rock driving home. That has to be worth a major record deal right there."

- Sloane Berrent, The LAist

“Justin Krol (Freshwater Collins) saturates each tune with a special blend of creativity, musicality, and relentless energy.”

- Modern Drummer Magazine

“The industry has taken notice. A record deal appears imminent.”
