And the answer is:JR Blu!This incredible young artist debut album entitled, "LOVE STATION," can most easily and efficiently be described as "New Old School."Bright and energetic, this new artist and performer has combined a soulful, sultry sound with pulsating lyrics and driving melodies in tracks like, "Because of me," "Oh I," and "Freak."As you listen to "Something New" and "Luv to You," the body's call to motion is signaled. Demonstrating his versatility, his passion becomes evident showing the sensitivity and strength of a man's love for a woman and that there is still commitment, desire and romance in song with tracks "Queen" and "Just Relax," which is currently being featured on Montgomery, Alabama's HOT 105.7 FM's "Home Grown" program, hosted by DJs "Michelle C" and Costee McNair.Presently residing in Tuskegee, Alabama, JR Blu was born June 2, 1982 at the Bolivar County Hospital in Cleveland, Mississippi. The only son of William and Clara Fonville, William Fonville Jr., also known as JR Blu, grew up in nearby Ruleville, Mississippi. As a youth he participated in sports thru Junior High School but then found his true love at Ruleville Central High School, and her name was music. That's when he picked up the saxophone and joined the Ruleville Central Marching Band. His sophomore year he became the Drum Major and for the next three years he led the "Little Sonic Boom" in their performances.However before leaving Junior High School, he forged an invaluable connection that would create an underlying passion that has fueled his soul 'til this very day. Blu and five of this friends formed a gospel group called "Rising Sons." During his years at RCH he began to hone his skills as a lyricist spending countless hours with pen and pad. While there he joined the school's Gospel Choir and through his stellar performance he was offered a scholarship in music to Mississippi Valley State University, where he was also a part of the MVSU Gospel Choir and the Jazz Combo.During his second year at MVSU, Blu and two of his classmates, Jason Bernard and Jonathan Davenport, formed the R&B trio, Double Platinum. They performed at various functions at MVSU and local parties which led to a performance at the famous Isaac Hayes Club in Memphis, Tennessee. Double Platinum eventually parted and the members found other projects, while keeping in touch. JR Blu began his pursuit of a solo career and the "LOVE STATION" album was created.JR Blu has performed at various venues and events over the last year, some of which included appearances at The Blackberry in Albany, Georgia, a performance at The Twelfth Stone for 105.3 FM in Selma, Alabama, a performance as a featured artist as "A Mid-Summers Night of Poetry, Jazz and Soul," hosted by Foxie 105 FM in Columbus, Georgia, and a well-received performance as and opening act for the "Queen of Blues," Ms. Denise LaSalle at Victoryland Dog Track and Casino's 20th Anniversary in Shorter, Alabama. Additionally, Blu has performed for the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Alabama's "STOP THE VIOLENCE" campaign as well as performing the National Anthem at sporting events for Auburn University, The Montgomery Biscuits Baseball Team, Tuskegee University, along with many others. JR Blu has a wonderfully glowing future, and his brilliance is yet to be seen. So, just keep your eyes open...His star's soon to streak across the horizon
