Ok well here I am...I guess I better say something...who am I? Well, Im Matt, im from Melbourne Australia.....im 33 years old. I have a beautiful Wife and 3 beautiful Kids...aged 4.5, 2 and 5mths.....the 4 of them are my LIFE. I love them all dearly.I guess you could say im a bit of an old Bogan Rocker!! I sing, play Guitar and a tiny bit of Drums...ive been im Bands and performing since I was about 17...Originals, Covers, Solo Acoustic...ive done it....was in a Band called KWIJIBO for a few years, released an independent CD (EP), played all over Melbourne and up in Sydney as well....we did ok I suppose without setting the world on fire..someone in the Press called us "Australia's SKID ROW" once..bit of Radio play here and there...great fun, good times. Moved onto a band called ZIPPERFISH after that, more of a Grunge type of Band but similar story, recorded an Independant EP, toured up and down the East Coast, played on TV, Radio....did a Video that got played as well....I then moved onto some Cover Band work...figured after all these years of doing what i did it would be nice to get some $$$ for playing, which came in handy...some would say I sold my Soul doing that but I had a great time i gotta admit and it was a great learning experiance.Then my Wife and I had our first child and I stopped music for a while....life becomes pretty hectic with kids and you kind of re-evaluate where you are in life and whats REALLY important to you...my Kids (and Wife) are my life and I like to devote as much time to them as I can....We had 2 more children over the past 2 years but during that time I picked up the Guitar and taught myself how to play a little as I had heaps of songs laying around that I wanted to get done.I started playing Solo Acoustic gigs around town about 18mths ago. Sitting up on a stool for the first time, with just you, your voice and an Acoustic Guitar for comfort is the single most terrifing thing ive ever encountered, but I got through the first gig and absolutely LOVED it....ive done quite a few more and, whilst id love to have some others up onstage with me, I love doing the Acoustic thing because its just so RAW...its bare bones all the way and if you can create some magic up there there is almost no better feeling....mind you if you stuff it up there is no one to blame but yourself!!!Ive recently bought myself an 8 Track Digital Recording unit and im currently recording some of my stuff...as soon as I get a few songs together I will post them here on MySpace...in the meantime, if your interested check out the KWIJIBO MySpace page to hear one of the songs of our EP.
