Blue Sky Mission Club

About Me

Blue Sky Mission Club is a band that's right on time. This Zydeco/Soul-Grass/ Reggea band emerging from the age old tradition of playing music people love to dance to, their sound rewrites the laws of Roots, Soul, Zydeco and Blues traditions.
BSMC's combination of world-class musicians have a seemingly intuitive connection and profound understanding of styles ranging from Roots to "Rhythm and Bluegrass", while capturing soulful melodies, jumping-Zydeco beats and honest social commentary, festival style.
The triple threat vocals of Tanya Byham, Joe Davoli and founder London McDaniel provide fresh harmonies, as well as London's uniquely Soulful Lap Steel Guitar playing there's the Blue Grass mastery of Joe Davoli (Fiddle) and Bass virtuosity of Frank Henry plus the grooving druming of Fernando Martinez providing a mixture that shakes, bumps and has had thousands of listeners Two-Stepping the night away on more than one occasion.
It's refreshing when a band can address social change as well as cover a spectrum of political, spiritual and deeply personal themes. Blue Sky Mission Club manages just that with their CD, "Riding The Horizon" which has been called "a joyous celebration, a space of happy awakening and an infectiously funky hoe down". Buckweat Zydeco calls McDaniel "The new Peter Tosh" and we give Blue Sky Mission Club Thumbs Up. --SF Chronicle
