Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do.

About Me

I have an unfettered faith in humanity, which leads me to be exceptionally trusting, altruistic, and quixotic. I get bored easily. The best way to keep me happy is to put a plate of cheese fries and a pitcher of beer in front of me at a bar with outside seating. I have a severe eBay addiction, but that's probably because I hate shopping yet love acquiring new and useless things. I have absurdly crazy dreams. Chances are I like my dog better than you. "Intervention" is my most recent addiction. Everything I learned about dating I learned from the "Tao of Steve". I hate it when philosophers use words that only philosophers know around people who aren't philosophers, but I do love using them myself. I'm looking for a Marlboro man with a PhD. I cried the first time I saw "Bad Santa". And the second time. All my best friends have always been guys, but I'm trying to broaden my horizons. I want to save the world, or at least decrease the rate of destruction of its natural resources. I pretend to be a Kantian, but deep down I'm a total existential-romantic(in the literary sense, not in the cheesey movie sense)-transcendental-deist. I love the smell of books. I refer to indoor swimming facilities as "natatoriums". Whatever it is I'm doing, I'd rather be outside. The best time of my life was spent in Europe. I am deathly afraid of commitment. I firmly believe in Karma. You know that annoying kid's song, "anything you can do, I can do better"? Well, it's pretty much my mantra, altough I find that it rarely holds true, usually after exasperating attempts to prove otherwise. Basically, I'm pretty much self-involved enough to waste my time writing this out under the auspice that you care enough to want to know "about me"..... WEAKNESSES: Maryanne(my first adopted stray dog), cheese fries, Yuengling, books on cd, Peanut Butter M&Ms, Fuzzy's Taco Shop, bungee cords, wit, guys who use big words and read in their free time, mint chocolate chip ice cream, flipflops, mountains, Mexican food, Italian food, Texas Rangers baseball, hippies, accents, Entourage, cheesy pick up lines, Family Guy, Sharpies, thunderstorms, Brewsky's veggie burgers, debating over beer, puns, Halloween, dark poetry, crossword puzzles, pinot noir, chips and salsa and avacado ranch with the wee one, fleece jackets. PEEVES: Hypocrites, closemindedness, touchy-feely people, refrigerated butter, incorrect grammar, people who answer their cell phones at dinner, girls who never buy their own drinks, being broke, being late, compliments, unrealistic expectations and the organizations that propogate them, guys who spend more time on their hair than I do, morning breath, meaningless tattoos, cell phone companies, reality tv (save "intervention", I f'n love that show!).

Nostalgia

Here it comes again. Nostalgia for a past that never transpired. A reminiscence that will slowly devolve into reticence. Regret for actions and words that went unnoticed or undisclosed. How can we...

Why I love Dallas...

One night in Dallas, two great pick up lines:"I see you're wearing a low-cut shirt, you must be in sales.""So, uh, do you wanna make out?"I definitely need to get out of Denton more often.

Porch Light

I came home tonight. And saw that the porch light wasn't on. And then I realized that I was alone.Funny how much things mean after they're gone.
