About Me

The origin of House music is to release, to let go, to raise your hands and let the music take you there. A place where the soul finds strength, the heart mounts upon its wings and the mind thinks of nothing but freedom. It is black, white, yellow and brown. It is jazz, blues, rock, hip hop and classical. It is gay, lesbian, bisexual and hetero. It is complex, simple, work and rest. It is religious, meditation, peace and war. It is me, you, us and all together. Take one creation and mix it with another to bring forth unity. Growing up in North Chicago, 35mi from the city of Chicago, Knos, at 34 has live a life rich in the foundation and history of House music. Being there in the beginnings of the evolution of House where his heart lies, he has found one way for his soul to express it's self. When Knos started off he didn’t have adequate funds to buy proper dj tables. Knos was forced to put together what he could find. His first so called system was a belt drive low end Technic turntable, a 20 year old belt drive pioneer record player (that belonged to his mother). For Christmas Knos was able to get a low end Radio Shack mixer. But with much frustration Knos gave up the pursuit to dj. In the early 80s Knos wanted to dj Hip Hop spending every dime he could get on buying records. Walking to the neighborhood record store he would always dream of becoming a dj like the many heroes of his day. Captin 2 Fresh (aka The X) one of the top Hip Hop djs in Illinois was a strong influence. Spending time with The X at his house and watching his mastery and dedication has stuck with Knos throughout his life. Not until Knos moved from one side of the city to the other did he find many djs spinning House music. Being exposed by his sister to House he would hear of her nights with friends at clubs called The Warehouse and Rainbow. She gave him a mix tape and the rest was history. From the radio stations: WGCI, WBMX, B96 and 89.9. To the likes of: Frankie, Farley and Julian. Home town legend: Victor Cruz (RIP). With the battle of a life time “Julian Jumpin Perez vs. Bad Boy Bill” at the Ramada Inn. The Warehouse, Rainbow and Red Dog with resident djs: Derrick Carter, Psycho Bitch and Mark Grant. Rivera Night Club: with ‘Mike Hit Man Wilson’. Dynamic Djs, Explosion 80, St. Nichols, Slavonic Hall, and the JM Club… he’s been there! Knos brings forth soul moving beats, sounds that touch your emotions. Hip Hop flavor, Latin rhythms, black and soulful. Music that is deep, underground, with an edge; ready to push the limits. Moving your body deep within. In a place of sound and vibration the harmony of blend is found in the soul. The movement of life is echoed in the mind and transplanted to the hands. Memory will be served with recalls of the ancient ways of dance. Your body will move making the call to the gathering of tribal vocation. The ritual will take place in the underground with the beating on drums, blowing on horns and with a wail of vocal screams.Knos

You Are the Work of Art

Know that every painting and every written word of poetry is the expression of what is experienced between me and you.   Your walk is the brush sweeping across a canvas. Your eyes are the beaut...
