About Me

I'm a self-employed person who does a few things: I'm a spiritual wellness trainer, a fitness trainer, an author, a public speaker, a mortgage consultant who brings positive energy to large financial endeavors, an artist and jewelry designer. It's a lot of hats, but don't worry... I have the head that comes with each one - I never throw anything away ;).
I'm a tiny woman with a bird appetite and big ideas. I'm in my 40's and having the time of my life. I've been married twice and divorced twice. I won't be doing the marriage thing again - not out of any childish petulance, but because I've lived both ways and I'm happier being unmarried. I've never wanted to be June Fucking Cleaver ever.
I know what I want and what I don't want. I'm wildly and stubbornly independent. I'm very thoughtful in the way I live my life. I have good reasons for the things I do, the things I believe, and the things I want. I can be very straightforward at times, but mostly I'm too polite to really ruffle anyone's feathers. This is not to mean that I'm a mouse about things. I'm not mousy at all, but I frighten elephants, so I do my best not to hurt anyone's feelings unnecessarily.
My brother thinks of me as La Mujer de Los Lobos because I have always been surrounded by dogs and have a cooperative relationship with them. I dig the kitties too, but can't imagine my life without at least one dog in it and generally... the more the merrier. I like at least two, find it more fun with 3, and have had as many as 5 at a time. I take care of them and they take care of me... with no bickering or whining. I've never even had a marriage that good ;)
These are a few of my favorite quotes...
"Every form of happiness is private. Our greatest moments are personal, self-motivated, not to be touched." --Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead

"Ten years ago.....
I turned my face for a moment
and it became my life.

Sometimes I go about pitying myself,
and all along my soul is being blown
by great winds across the sky."
--Ojibway saying

"And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." --Anais Nin"You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait. Do not even wait, be quite still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice. It will roll in ecstasy at your feet." --Franz Kafka (1883 ~ 1924)
"The cave you fear to enter contains the treasure you seek." --Joseph Campbell (1904-1987)
A CHEROKEE LEGEND
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.
"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He continued, "The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

My Interests

jewelry making, stained glass, mig welding, decorative painting, metal embossing, interior decorating, trompe l'oeil, combat conditioning, working out, energy coaching, and more.

I'm a displaced Pacific Northwestern Girl stuck in California, melting in the sun that fries my white, white skin. I love rain, rain, rain and the more the better. I also love fog, howling winds, thunder and lightning. My fondest dream is to live as close to Puget Sound as possible so I can get the most "weather" there is.
I'm the most feminine tomboy you've ever seen and I relish your misperceptions of me. I'm entertained when someone underestimates me because of the diminutive way I look and I just bide my time in case I ever need to strike lol. I'm all about the pointy-toed spike heeled shoes and have fun with all the female trappings. But at the same time I'm heavy into fitness, love martial arts, and I'm nowhere near the delicate flower I appear. My strength is on a need-to-know basis. If you don't need to know, then you don't need to know ;).

I'd like to meet:

I'd love to find old friends and reconnect. I'd also like to meet new friends who've been around the block a few times. I like a little age and experience on a person. It's sexy ;).
Please don't send me an add request without also sending me a note as to why you're adding. If we know each other from somewhere, like another person's blog, please remind me. If you're adding because you think we have something in common, then let me know what we have in common so I can see it right away instead of having to figure it out. You know things about yourself which we may have in common that may not be apparent on my your MySpace page.
If you send me an add request and I approve it, then you never send me a note explaining the connection and you never write, I'll delete within just a couple of weeks. It's nothing personal. I consider those in my list my actual friends and if you don't want to be that then you really don't have a place in my list and I don't belong in yours either. Thanks for understanding.
"May the road rise up to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face. May the rain fall soft upon your fields And until we'll meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand." -- Old Celtic Verse
I'm usually pretty apolitical, but if you're voting and you want a less government approach, please consider Ron Paul for President .
I'm in a relationship, so I'm not here looking for romance or any kind of hook up. Thanks anyway, though.

Movies:

Some of my favorites: The Shipping News, The Stone Merchant, Underworld, Catwoman, Tank Girl, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Matrix, Hocus Pocus, Practical Magic, The Notebook, The Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, Autumn in New York (but only because she made arty hats and had this gorgeous mobile in her room - the rest of the movie was a downer and RG did a really gross job of kissing her).I like really stupid funny movies, fantastical story movies, movies that chronical lifetimes as long as they aren't downers, psychological thrillers, any grade of martial arts movies that are inspiring rather than senseless.

Television:

..I don't watch network tv or local tv channels, but I do watch cable when I have it. I don't currently have it, though. I don't watch news shows and generally don't keep up on current events by other means either. I have a personal policy of observing the world from my front door. It eliminates stress related to the NIGHTLY GLOOM & DOOM SHOW otherwise known as the NEWS. If it looks good outside my door, then it's all good in my hood, baby ;).

Books:

Jewelry making books, jewelry in history books, books on writing, books on real estate investing, all manner of books distinctly on the geeky side (like perl, cgi, javascript, php, web design, etc.), anything by Dean Koontz, anything by Peter Straub, fantasy, how-to books of every description, business books, etc.

Heroes:

Active creators everywhere... people who are busy living their dreams and creating the lives they want instead of being people things just "happen to".
My brother, James, who has evolved himself into someone who comes from a place that's so much better than the place he came from. He's my hero and my best friend.
