About Me

Hey, I guess there isn't much to say about me here lately, except for stressed out! I have had some amazing things happen to me recently like getting engaged and moving in with my sweet fiance Quentin. He is a successful independent sub-contractor that specializes in travertine and natural stone so if you need a guy (he will be working on the Cowboys player's Brady James' house soon! Yay!)..... I am currently looking for work and have been glued to this computer for about 2 weeks looking for the right thing for me, although it has been refreshing to play the happy housewife and get some time to clear my head from everything else. I have been making cookies and dusting, doing laundry and walking the dog. I have gotten amazingly good at UNO, which is really weird.

I'd like to meet:

friends, old and new! stCook
You're a top cook, but you weren't born that way. It's taken a lot of practice, a lot of experimenting, and a lot of learning.
It's likely that you have what it takes to be a top chef, should you have the desire... Are You A Good Cook?

Music:

portishead, massive attack, the streets, girl talk, stratageme, john mayer, anything in the way of basement jaxx or oakenfold, smoking popes, the darkness, hagfish, goldfinger, pixies, the flame trick subs-(was once an honorary satan's cheerleader back in my swing days),regina spektor, dean martin, louis prima, maxwell, remy shand, me first and the gimme gimmes, snoop, - anything with a good dance beat or laid back cool vibe

Movies:

the doom generation, what's eating gilbert grape, blah, blah.... I like scary, gory, cheesy, funny, obscure and distasteful horror films. I also enjoy a good Quentin Tarantino flick (new one coming out that is ALSO a horror film- How lucky am I?)But seriously, I love the doom generation! Oh, and Donnie Darko, Boondock Saints, Super Troopers, Labyrinth, Legend, The Dark crystal, Bound, SLC Punk, The Royal Tennenbaums, more to come!

Television:

I have to say that I do not keep up with a lot of shows. I do love Nip Tuck, Masters of Horror, Americas Funniest Animals, Anthony Bourdain-No Reservations, Mythbusters, CSI's, Wife Swap and Super Nanny (like a train wreck.....you know the rest), Supernatural-when I remember, and I have always been a sick fan of Charmed. I'll watch anything on these channels without quarrel- Food TV, Science Channel, Animal Planet, The Travel Channel, Discovery, The Learning Channel (those tumors sure do seem to be getting bigger and bigger don't they?)

Books:

The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker-She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb- The Collected Works by HP Lovecraft- The Thief of Always by Clive Barker-Christopher Moore- any cookbook by Eileen Corriher, Alton Brown or any chiller that can scare me in my own home- Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz-Collected Short Stories by Stephen King , and i'm sure a couple of questionable works that I enjoyed but am not willing to divulge.... PS- Just read Julie and Julia!!! Fantastic book! One crazy lady in a tiny New York apartment tries to cook up every recipe in Mastering the Art of French Cooking in one year. Highly recommended. :)

Heroes:

My Mom, first -for allowing me to be weird and unusual when I was young, so that I can be comfortable with being weird and unusual now that I am grown, sort of. So, i'd say: Amy Blue in the doom generation-cause she was so um-punk rock. My pups- Dexter B Dastardly and Sydney (Tiny) Vicious- cause they love me for my treat rendering capabilitites, and honesty is a good quality in a dog. The CricketSoda Myspace Editor!

You are Justice

Equity, rightness, probity, executive; triumph of the observing side in law.

Justice is about cold, objective balance through reason or natural force. You can't keep smoking and drinking without consequences to your health. It is the card that advises cutting out waste and insists that you make adjustments, do whatever is necessary to bring things back into balance, physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually. It is a card of balance and harmony; if there is imbalance, the correction may require recourse to the law.

World of Possibilities

Well, everything has been completely out of whack here lately. I lost my job. I was denied my unemployment benefits wrongfully. I had to get a lawyer to bite them in the butt so I can get my benefits....
