I recently moved to New York to pursue fashion design further. I am working on my Spring/Summer 2009 collection that will showcase October 28th.
I work for Rebecca Cole famous landscape and garden designer to New York.
Shopping at small unknown boutiques, the swapmeet, sample sales, urban outfitters, Little India, 5th Ave. and 7th Ave and several other chain stores (u know the places where everyone owns what you own). Drawing... I am working several design concepts everyday for clothing, i sketch outfits all the time, i love black and white (charcoal) portraits, photography, pastels, and painting but its my least favorite.
Bowling is one of my favorite "sports"...haha... of which I am currently in a league right now... with a grand average of 142... j/k... my average is definetly 142, but thats not grand! Traveling everywhere... so far I've been to Paris and New York (my new favorite!). Sleeping, trendspotting, sewing, bike riding, and running... just to name a few more of my interests. Oh and I must not forget... I have an infatuation for certain men who shall remain unmentionable... but if youre my friend, you know who I am talking about, lol.
Anyone creative and talented that I can learn from and be inspired by.
I'm pretty eclectic...anything late 80s or early 90s is my favorite though... i love love love it and just cant get enough You know what im talking about... the tracks by keith sweat, bobby brown (i do not care), milli vinilli, sir mix a lot, old school salt n' pepa, jonny gil, anita baker, lisa stanfield, sade, digital underground, ton loc, toni toni toni... all of that...haha. But if i need to get current with this... im lovin Alicia Keys, i will forever be a die hard Nsync fan (shutup!... which means that i will support JC and Justin solo...lol... you still love me anyway), Tony Lucca, Remy Shands, Lenny Kravitz (It ain't over til its over), Destiny's Child (not this current CD... a.ka. the last one), Beyonce, 50 Cent, Pharrell, Jay-Z... the list goes on and one I know im forgetting people...
Dirty Dancing is my all time favorite, then comes Pretty Woman... those two are at the top of my list. A couple of others that I've really enjoyed is Sixteen Candles, Excorcist, Puppet Master, Remember the Titans, Coming to America (actually put that at the top to), Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Dumb and Dumber, The Fly, and several others im sure...im pretty versatile. And no!... Napolean Dynamite is not on my list because i forgot... its because I have no desire to see the film and I haven't seen the film...
Sex and the City, Project Runway, Gossip Girl, Cashmere Mafia, MTV True Life, Run's House, Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency, Housewives of Orange County, Lucy, Lucy, Lucy,... and more Lucy... I loooooooooove I love Lucy. I love A Different World, 227, Amen, Cosby, Living Single, Charles and Charge, Saved By the Bell, In Living Color, Martin, The Simpsons (The Baby-sitter Bandit is the shizzle)... those are the old school ones. Currently my favorites are Friends (oh how i miss that show), the OC, Project Runway, Anything on the STYLE channel except for Isaac, What Not To Wear, Survivor, American Dreams (Sadly its off), Alias, One on One, Girlfriends, All of Us, and Eve.
Like my friend Tiff... who introduced me to her novels... I really do enjoy Jane Green. I am not a book reader so that is saying a lot. But I love magazines... my favorite is Lucky... it is like the bible to fashion styles and places to shop.. the best!
My Daddy... know one can compare to him. He is seriously not only the most wonderful Dad... but the most wonderful man and human being that I have ever come to know. He loves me so much that it saturates me with a feeling of security and happiness all the time. Daddy you are truly "the worlds best dad!" My Mommy... she is like the sister that I never had... we get in our fights... but I can always tell her my deepest secrets. You know normally thats for your best friend... but i feel lucky I can share them with her. And last but certainly not least... my high school art teacher Ms. Pickett aka Ms. P. Even though we dont talk much... we try and keep in touch as much as we can through email. And every time I email her about whats going on in my life she expresses such happiness for me... and tells me how proud she is of me. She is like my mentor... everything I accomplish is because of her... she doesnt really know it... but I think of everything shes done and all that she has taught me... and it makes me want to impress her and make her proud of me ten times more...
