About Me

I am a coagulation of elements under the influence of an acausal connecting principal that allows for a self-awareness of the underlying consciousness. A greasy reflection of love, I suppose.
If you start here at the beginning - you'll love it by the end.
Happiest damn moment since the early 80's!
If you watch, or are familiar with, the first 13 movies in my "Movies" list (after Ishtar and Waterworld) that should give you a fairly accurate view inside my skull.
f the present is all there is, why is it that we are always missing it and trying to find it? How is this even possible? Could it be that we are so busy describing what we think should be here that we miss what is? Does an infant need entertainment? Or is he or she completely entertained by what is here and now? During the holidays, one of the favorite toys of very young children will not necessarily be what their parents may have spent a lot of money buying, but the boxes that the toys came in. A young child can spend hours playing with a cardboard box happily and contentedly. Does the child think it is a box? No. The child probably doesn't think it is anything. He or she is content with the smell of the cardboard and the texture of its surfaces. The child thrills with how the box is dark inside and light all around; revels in the sound it makes as it is being jumped on or dragged across the floor. The child is fully engaged in experiencing the box directly without layers of abstraction about it-like, this is a box. This is a good box or a useful box. What does this box mean? What is its purpose? Is this the right box? Is it taking up too much room? Is it dirty? Can I sell it and for how much? There is merely the experiencing of the box and all its sounds, sensations and images-and that is enough. In my concept, we live in a world of abstraction (and abstraction about abstraction)-instead of living fully present with what is. By abstraction I mean the artificial stories, beliefs and meanings we assign to our direct experience of what is actually happening in our daily lives. We live with thoughts about what could have been or should have been or what we would like to be or what we would like to change. This prevents us from experiencing the exquisite joy of just being fully present with what is. We are always investing in the future or the past rather than in the now-the only place that we can reap the fruit of any investment. Why not start investing in the now?
