My Interests

I'd like to meet:

msprm name="movie"

Music:

Meh.... a bunch. I've just joined the rest of the world and got myself an ipod. This is exciting for me.

Movies:

I'd definately have more money if I'd spent less time over the last 10 years watching films and more time doing, like, other stuff. Top ten film lists give me a headache. But here goes: Midnight Cowboy; Apocalypse Now; Napeleon Dynamite; Kubrik's Lolita; The Passenger; Waiting for Guffman; Talk to Her; Last Tango in Paris/ On the Waterfront/ Streetcar Named Desire - can never decide which of these Brando films is best; Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind/ Adaptation/ Being John Malkovitch - same for Charlie Kaufmann; The Usual Suspects; Annie Hall; The Jungle Book; Rear Window; Lost in Translation; Ed Wood; Throw Momma from the Train; Fargo; Head On; Office Space; Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom; Donnie Brasco; Seven.Films that I think are totally overrated include: Star Wars (inc. all prequels and sequels); Lord of the Rings (Star Wars with beards); Schindler's List; Brokeback Mountain; Pirates of the Caribbean. Films that I have embarassingly never seen but talked about at parties as if I have, include: Dr. Strangelove and Alien.

Television:

The Office, Deadwood, Criminal Minds, CSI: Vegas or Miami (but not New York), old English comedies like Dad's Army and Yes, Minister, Pheonix Nights, South Park.

Books:

The Great Gatsby, anything by Raymond Carver, Henderson the Rain King, Portnoy's Complaint, Trainspotting, The Remains of the Day, Money, Atomised, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Dole by Amanda Hallay. Just started reading Alice Monro who I think is an incredible writer.

Heroes:

Marlon Brando, F.Scott-Fitzgerald, Doyle Brunson, Kurt Cobain, Francis Ford Coppola, Napoleon Dynamite, Pamela Anderson, Ronnie Biggs, Bill Murray, Baloo, Maria Schneider, Liam Gallagher, Eric Cartman, The Dude.

My Blog

Just look what you could have won!!! (PS, it's really shit)

I was staying at my parents' house the other night and watching sky TV (because I could - they've got it and I don't) after everyone had gone to bed. Zapping around I got to channel 200079 where they ...

Hey Jude don't be afraid take a bad film and make it, like, worse

The old spit and polish

The French do not give two shits about their cars. En France a car really is just a piece of tin that you sit in and press some stuff and hopefully, via some honking a swerving, get to wherever it is ...
