come to life, my second skin; protect the madness locked within...

About Me

I love books the way Gir loves the Doom song! They're a great escape when I can't cope with the world. Mostly I like sci-fi and fantasy, though every now and again I delve into psychology. My 2001 Harley Sportster (1250 cc's, I thank you) is my baby girl. Even if she does try to shake off her parts like a nudist shaking off its clothes... One of my sisters used to tease me, "Anna's an earthling, Anna's an earthling", and I would get mad and scream back, "I am NOT, stop calling me that!" She thought I didn't know what it meant, but I did. To this day, I don't readily admit to being an earthling. Not sure what I am, but I certainly don't feel a kinship with most people... That's not saying I'm not a nice "person", but I find the way most people act towards others to be of questionable nature.

My Interests

I like sewing, reading, dancing, playing with my dog, cooking, and (when I'm angry) cleaning. I thoroughly enjoy working on my bike, and need to be independantly wealthy, so I can afford all the parts I want!!! I enjoy the company of my second oldest sister and second brother, who comes over with her two dogs and we all hang out and play. It's such a joy to have family close by!!

I'd like to meet:

people with personality who can deal with the fact they won't hear from me often... out of sight does not equal out of mind...

Music:

I like a little bit of everything. OK, so I like a lot in the industrial genre. I grew up listening to classic rock, 50s music, and old country (like Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline...). Thanks to my Dad, I have a healthy appreciation for Moody Blues and Fleetwood Mac.

Movies:

Action movies like Ong Bak, The Last Boyscout, XXX. I simply adore the Marx Brothers; Monty Python is good, too. Mel Brooks rocks my socks with anything he does.

Television:

Bones, House, How It's Made, The Dresden Files, the Ovation channel

Books:

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, pretty much anything Anne McCaffrey, everything Koontz, Fahrenheit 451, most Fred Saberhagen, the Wild Card series, the Xanth series (OK, OK, so I like most of his other stuff, too), the Dune series, Orson Welles; you get the general idea. ;P

Heroes:

My heroes are anyone who has kicked a bad drug habit and come out with a healthier mindset. Billie Holliday is another. I need to figure out how to be my own hero, though.

My Blog

Sigh...

Alex and Lisa are handfasted at last! It was absolutely beautiful! She got a little stressed at the reception because people kept disappearing, but everyone was finally all together for announcements....

problems with my drive train...

Not on the bike; in my head. I know there's all this stuff to do, and I just want to stay in bed. I don't feel depressed or angry, just kind-of empty. WBT is an amazing man who fills my heart with ha...
