About Me

Mister Miller:
The leader of Big Nickel, is making his way to being one of the most influential songwriters/producers to emerge in recent years. Also, heâ€™s trying to make Big Nickel one of the most sought after groups in hip hop and the industry. Mister Miller works hard at his craft to make sure everything is done at a level which is hard to obtain by anyone else.
Sagacity the Chun-Tzu:
Graduate of the University of Hartfordâ€™s Hartt School of Music, Dance and Theatre, the underground emcee has earned a respectable reputation for insightful lyrics and energetic performances. Publicly performing since high school, his college career was defined as the lead emcee in the bands Royal Ink and Urban Poets Society. If not performing or writing, he spends his time volunteering to better his community.
The Band:
Led by Rhashim Campbell (DJ/drums), the band is comprised of highly musically trained professionals, who are young and have the desire succeed. They have a few musicians that they can call band members, such as Ben Jencks (bass; from the Hartt School of Music), Damian Curtis (keys; from the famed Curtis Brothers), and Brandon Hodge (bass; played with Mary J Blige), to name a few. They are known to play with different band setups, and they usually rotate the band. Right now, band members can be seen throughout the Tristate area at clubs, bars, restaurants.

Big Nickel Music is a collection of positive and inspired artists, led by the resident producer and lead emcee Mister Miller. Bound by their love and passion for creating great music, Big Nickel flawlessly blends jazz, funk, rock and hip hop for the new age audience of music lovers. Gracefully balancing artistic expression and professionalism, Big Nickel is comprised of dedicated musicians preparing for mainstream success.

The group goes by the name "ELEMENT 28" the new name of the group because of the fresh new direction we're headed in; Big Nickel Music is the umbrella it falls under. Simply put check your periodic tables. We're still comprised of 2 emcees (Mister Miller, Sagacity the Chun-Tzu) and at times a 6 piece jazz band. Straight out of Connecticut (though everyone is not originally from there) we were making music on our own for a while, then one day we heard each other play and talked about making music together. Ever since then we let our music talk for us.
