Anita Angelica is what some call a Renaissance woman. Born in Brooklyn New York City of Italian/Barbadian descent, she was raised by her father, who emphasized the importance of being a “jack of all tradesâ€. As a child, she toured playing the classical bass (2 performances in Carnegie Hall before age 18). She studied Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University before transferring to Columbia University. "I missed NYC, so I stepped it up to the ivy-league", she laughs. From her role as president of the National Society of Black Engineers, to her involvement with 6 other organizations including Engineers Without Boarders (Ghana project), she has always had her ear to the community.
She fell into entertainment through modeling at runway shows including Olympus Fashion Week at Bryant Park , Brooklyn Fashion week, and for companies such as Glaxo Smith Klein (Belgium).
She is currently a VJ with on numerous networks including Think MTV, CIN and CW Tuscon where she's interviewed artists like Alicia Keys, Ray J, Monica, MIMS, Tyrese, Vivica Fox, Mobb Deep, Yung Joc, Collie Buddz, Shaggy and many more.
“Her ability to set-up spontaneous unscripted chemistry with these rappers is like sexual chocolate,†laughs producer Mike Wiles. She is definitely a face to watch, look out for her in 2 upcoming commercials for Comedy Central. She is also featured in the films Sordid Things (Andrew Blumenthal 2007) ,The Happening (M. Night Shyamalan 2008), and on Cashmere Mafia (ABC) by the director of Sex in the City, starring Lucy Liu.
