I'd like to meet:
People with similar interests... who like to laugh, who can make me laugh, who are on my wavelength. Also looking for that "special" someone...
Music:
Mainly classic rock and pop, 1960s-1990s, but there are exceptions.
Most of all I loathe putting music in classifications, for example I hate "lite" music because it sounds watered-down, but I'm sure there are songs I like that would be formally classified as "lite."
Also, there are some genres that I'm not "officially" a fan of but there are individual songs from these genres that I do like. And that's O.K.
Some of my fave raves:
The Beatles
Bruce Springsteen
Frank Sinatra
The Village People
Culture Club
Chuck Berry
The Doors
Prince
Devo
I'm really not into "hardcore" but thanks to the Morton Downey, Jr. show (don't ask!) I became a fan of GG Allin, and there are a few Mentors tracks I dig.
Movies:
American Splendor
Crumb
Hail, Hail, Rock And Roll (Chuck Berry)
Coming To America
Trading Places
Torch Song Trilogy
The Queen
Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
Television:
In no particular order:
The Apprentice
The Odd Couple
The Simpsons
Family Guy
Frasier
The Price Is Right
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire
Monty Python's Flying Circus
Fawlty Towers
M*A*S*H
Iron Chef (the Alton Brown-hosted American version as well as the original Japanese version with Fukui-san)
Match Game
The Amazing Race
The Weakest Link, especially the British version
Little House On The Prairie
The People's Court
Judge Judy
Judge Mathis
Judge Joe Brown
Divorce Court
The Sopranos, which I'm now discovering on A&E
Back in the days when I had more free time I went to many TV show tapings:
Morton Downey, Jr. (both at WWOR and CNBC)
Donahue
Maury Povich (early on, before all his shows were paternity shows and lie detector tests)
People's Court (with Ed Koch as judge)
Geraldo
Books:
American Splendor (Harvey Pekar)
True Story Swear To God (Tom Beland)
Box Office Poison (Alex Robinson)
Tricked (also Alex Robinson)
Magic Whistle (Sam Henderson)
Strangers In Paradise (Terry Moore)
Wimbledon Green (Seth)
Hard Time (Steve Gerber)
Peep Show (Joe Matt)
The Spirit (Darwyn Cooke's version!)
Yes, these are all comic books...
and there's nothing wrong with that!

But wait, there's more!
I also like
reprints, replicas and facsimiles of magazines and old books, that way I don't have to worry about taking care of them for collectible purposes or from catching "age cooties."
Heroes:
I don't know if I'd call these individuals heroes, but they're all people I like... and some of them aren't even real...
(And the list isn't all-inclusive... there are probably people I've forgotten to put in here, just because they don't come to mind at the time I edit this thing...)

GG Allin
Benny Hinn
Dr. Frederick K.C. Price
Tina from Rina Piccolo's comic strip "Tina's Groove," which unfortunately no longer appears in a New York City newspaper
