Young June Over the years, we have seen hip hop and r&b go through many changes. Change is a thing that people fear; but at the sametime, they like it because its something new. Well, have you heard hip hop out of Minnesota? Young June, known as "june", has a goal to show everyone what Minnesota has to offer to the music world. Born and raised for 14 years on theSouth side of mpls in minnesota, Young june is a true "city boy by heart". Now at the age of 18, young june still resides in Minneapoils, MN, and plans to bring the R&B and Rap in 1 Growing up on Al Green, Biggie, Tyrone Davis and Jay Z, Young june started rhyming at the age of 12 in a local Group. Leaders in the group were amazed at how he good he was for his age. They said it looked too natural. While being in the group, Young june performed on stage in front of crowds of 4,000, wrote 3-5 songs a week, and taught himself how to engineer songs in the studio. After developing more of his craft, Young june started getting known around Minnesota for freestyling and entering in m.c. battles. In the meantime, he also flooded the local hip hop scene with 4 homemade Mixtapes. In October 2002, Young june Went to a local School to pursue his trade. Even though getting a college eduction was the main focus,Young june still worked on his own music.
