just enjoying life

About Me

I am 23 years old and I work at a middle school as a student aid. Before this job I was a Youth For Christ Director at a High School in Indiana. I enjoy reading, listening to music, and working with children. My favorite band is Switchfoot and books that I am currently reading include Blue Like Jazz by Don Miller and Go Tell it on the Mountain by James Baldwin.

My Interests

I love music, books, and movies. Top five albums of all times: Patti Griffin- Impossible Dream, Coldplay- Parachutes, U2- The Joshua Tree, Jimmy Eat World- Clarity, and my favorite album of all time Switchfoot- Learning to Breathe. I can't pin down my top five books, but here are some I have enjoyed Tuesdays with Morrie, Mere Christianity, Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, and Waking the Dead. Top Five Movies: Life as a House, Rocky, Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, and Gladiator.and just so you don't truly think I'm shallow my true vision and goal in life is to lead and set an example for young people as I truly believe, this is God's goal for my life.

I'd like to meet:

If I could meet anyone I would meet Jon Foreman of Switchfoot, Rob Bell of Mars Hill Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and I know it sounds cliche but I'd love to sit down and have a glass of wine with Jesus.

Group: Top Tier

These albums are great recordings that just missed the Top 50. Most of them were in the Top 50 at one time, but were pushed out by other albums. All of these albums are ones that I believe are excep...

life/death

The time we have on earth is uncertain.  No one can calculate the years they will live, so should this change the way we spend our days?  I never used to think about this.  In fact deat...

Thoughts on Community

Community is a necessary element of the body of Christ. It's true or God wouldn't call his people "a body."Webster defines community as a group of people having common interests. Is that really all it...

Creativity in Popular Music

I know I'm going to upset a few people with this next statement. Aside from all the critical success, huge album sales, and legions of fans I believe Kurt Cobain did a disservice to music. Since Nirva...
