If it's unconventional, I'm probably into it... or at least know about it!
If you can hear the song *Southern Cross," not only is it one of my all time favorite songs, I'm thrilled that I actually got to see THE Southern Cross in the New Zealand sky! Thank you Richard Bolstad for being the BEST NLP Trainer on the planet (IMHO) and making it possible for me to do my Trainer's Training in New Zealand with you! AND, thank you Debbie for so generously sharing your home and yourself with me while I was there. That was one of the most phenomenal experiences of my life!
I've tried to put my school on but it won't let me. Probably because Scottsdale High School got dismantled and replaced by some fancy condos. When my high school sweetheart came back from Vietnam, he got stationed at Fort Ord so I went to Monterey Peninsula College while we were there. After that I asked myself why I want to continue subjecting myself to learning a curriculum I could see no value in so I dropped traditional schooling. I went back to the Phoenix area for awhile but ended up back in Monterey again and then moved to San Luis Obispo, CA for a little over 20 years.
I left paradise (San Luis Obispo) because my passion for learning brought me to Salt Lake City (of all places) to study with a blind Kiatsu Master that sees better than all of the rest of us put together. It was an opportunity of a lifetime (I thought). He was willing to teach non black belts the healing side of his martial art and I had the "No Belt Peace Prize" so I was jumping on that opportunity before it got away! While in Salt Lake I also continued doing advanced trainings in all the other things that I have a passion for, as well as spent about 8 years coaching and coordinating NLP and hypnosis certification trainings at Anchor Point Institute before becoming a trainer myself. Now I'm back in Monterey (again) and am up for "What's next?" yet not attached to what that is.
I've led a very full life and am pretty content no matter what I do as long as I find at least a few people on my wavelength. I love traveling and will always be a student. I LOVE learning! I also love it when others share with me about the things they know.
So that's where I've been; the following link is some of what I do.
http://rapideyetechnology.com/directory/therapist_info.php? cPath=259&therapist_id=365
I feel very privileged to have been guided to the people, opportunities and experiences that have taught me what I've learned! The personal satisfaction and the connections I have gotten to experience are beyond words..., not to mention the joy of getting to participate with others on their journey and them in mine.
To me, EVERYTHING is about getting to know what having true internal peace is in spite of every crazy thing going on around us. As many times during my life that I've tried to disprove that (in other words I chose hard!), I have FINALLY gotten that that is what my life's journey is about now. That once we have internal peace, there is nothing not available to us if we want it. It's the way IT works (see my blog on that). I also enjoy taking silly little tests... can you tell???

How Are You In Love?

My Interests

My Life Path Number is 7

Your purpose in life is to find truth and meaning.

You are very spiritual, and you are interested in the mysteries of life. You are quite analytical and a great thinker. You have many theories and insights. A life of solitude is perfect for you as you need time to think and do things the way you see are best for you.

In love, you are quite charming. You attract many with your confidence and wit. What Is Your Life Path Number?

Hmmm, solitude? I am very much a people person and spend a lot of time with others. Yet, I suppose it's true, the way I recharge is by being alone. I have been known, more than once, to get on a train and travel just for the alone, down time, even though there are others on the train as well. I really love the trip from Salt Lake to CA as I enjoy the ride through the Sierras (especially in the winter). I enjoy all types of travel, dancing, music (I can listen to any drumming for hours!), learning new things and then practicing what I've learned. I feel privileged that I am living my life mission (which is extremely rewarding for me).
I find it fascinating that I came up the Phoenix on the following test as that's been one of my archetypes for years... going into the depths and then emerging again on a higher plane of understanding.
If you want to know how to create your day and/or about Abundance Checks, see my blog on those subjects. :)

You are Form 0, Phoenix: The Eternal."And The Phoenix's cycle had reached zenith, so he consumed himself in fire. He emerged from his own ashes, to be forever immortal."Some examples of the Phoenix Form are Quetzalcoatl (Aztec), Shiva (Indian), and Ra-Atum (Egyptian).
The Phoenix is associated with the concept of life, the number 0, and the element of fire. His sign is the eclipsed sun.As a member of Form 0, you are a determined individual. You tend to keep your sense of optimism, even through tough times and have a positive outlook on most situations. You have a way of looking at going through life as a journey that you can constantly learn from.
Phoenixes are the best friends to have because they cheer people up easily.

I'd like to meet:

Folks that are willing to experiment with being as close to 100% honest all of the time as they possibly can. I've been exploring that and it has been, I'd say, the most refreshing experience I've ever experienced. What I've learned in the process, however, is it takes a very together person to be able to hold their own during both the speaking and the listening.... like no kidding! I've also discovered that there are rare few that are willing so I thank the Masters in my life as well as my dear friends that have been willing to play there with me. It's really too bad more don't indulge because the experience is amazing for more reasons than I ever could have imagined when I took it on, not to mention the safety that's possible in being able to be fully self expressed!
One that enjoys receiving. Why? Most of the people I know are givers, but not many I know know how to receive. I thinks it's because it takes courage to open ourselves to receive. When we begin to receive, buried negative emotions sometimes surface as they're being replaced by what we receive. Fear, guilt, grievance and revenge are what stops receiving. How can there be effective givers if there aren't those able to receive so they can reciprocate and so the cycle can continue? How can we be successful at both? That's my question.
Now with regards to love... unconditional love is not personal or special, and extends itself to everyone in the same way. Love describes who WE are and how we create. To have healed enough that we recognize our essence as love is to live joy. It is the basis for every good feeling and for attracting to us those that are also love.
And with regards to commitment... With commitment one can feel even more free and focused on what's important in life. What's given up in breadth of experience is made up for in the heighth and depth of our commitment and in the meaning it can bring to our life. Anyone (whether male or female, young or old) that gets what I've said here, I would love to know you!
Namaste, Laura

You Are a Prophet Soul

You are a gentle soul, with good intentions toward everyone. Selfless and kind, you have great faith in people. Sometimes this faith can lead to disappoinment in the long run. No matter what, you deal with everything in a calm and balanced way.

You are a good interpreter, very sensitive, intuitive, caring, and gentle. Concerned about the world, you are good at predicting people's feelings. A seeker of wisdom, you are a life long learner looking for purpose and meaning. You are a great thinker and communicator, but not necessarily a doer unless you feel inspired.
Souls you are most compatible with: Bright Star Soul and Dreaming Soul
What Kind of Soul Are You?

Music:

Let's put it this way... the only thing I can think of that I don't like is heavy metal and opera. Most of the rest I really like and what's left is okay until I can find something I like better. Play anything that is CSN and/or Y and I'm hooked. I am most definitely one of the Woodstock generation!

You Are an Indie Rocker!
You are in it for the love of the music...
And you couldn't care less about being signed by a big label.
You're all about loving and supporting music - not commercial success.
You may not have the fame and glory, but you have complete control of your career. What Kind of Rocker Are You?

Movies:

My favorite all time movies:
U-Tube is addicting! There is SO much cool stuff on there!*Pay It Forward* because I SO get how the smallest things that we do, and BE, can affect others in ways that we may never know.
*What the Bleep Do We Know* because I'm willing to travel down the rabbit hole as far as I can go.
*The Last Samurai* because it is my experience that honor is what creates an opening for love to flow. When the Japanese army all bowed after they killed the Samarai leader (don't ask me his name), I was so touched by that scene.
*White Nights* Does anyone remember the movie? Makail Barishnikov and Timothy Hines? Besides the story, their dancing and tapping is exquisite!!!
*Lady Hawke* How long did it take you to figure out what was going on?
*March of the Penguins* Talk about a love story!!! However, after seeing the movie, I am MOST grateful that I am not a penguin living in the Antarctic. Though I did see a sign in New Zealand for a penguin crossing. I asked to back up so I could see if I really just saw what I thought I saw. Now I'd be a penguin in New Zealand in a heartbeat!!! :)
*Hotel Rwanda! I cried through the whole movie! After the movie showed, the REAL hotel manager (don't ask me how to say his name--it's about 20 letters long) that saved about 1,200 refugees lives, came out to answer the audience's questions. There was a thunderous standing ovation!
There were over a million people killed during that genocide. The world watched, but NO ONE came to their rescue!!! Remind you of Hurricane Katrina??? This man risked his life to save the lives of those blacks that came to his hotel for refuge. What's appalling is the same thing is still happening in many other countries now! Millions are starving and don't even have basic needs being met!
If nothing else... like the Emissaries of Light, please take a moment to stop and send the people of these forsaken countries your love as often as you think of it. IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Television:

The following is what I would RATHER be doing than watching t.v.:

LUST "passion, awareness, aliveness" You exhibit an excitement and enthusiasm about life as well as multi-faceted creativity. You have the gifts of perception, extended vision, insight, and intuition and display an eagerness to display your full creative expression.
You have the ability to fully express yourself, free of lies and masks and falsehoods. You can overcome your fears using your creativity, as shown by the woman on the card.

Books:

There isn't enough room here. This is the one addiction I am just not yet willing to give up!
The books I recommend most are:
* Excuse Me Your Life is Waiting by Lynn Grabhorn
* What You Can Feel You Can Heal by John Gray
* Kryon, Book 6 channeled by Lee Carroll (especially the first 4 chapters)
* The 4 Agreements and the Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz
* Conversations with God, book 2 by Neale Donald Walsch (especially chapter 7)
* Soul Love by Sanaya Roman
* Emissary of Light (a vision of peace) by James Twyman
* Power vs. Force, Eye of the I, and the book "I" by David Hawkins
* NLP, The New Technology of Achievement, Nightengale/Conant
* The Portable Coach by Thomas Leonard
I also recommend that everyone get a deck of the Osho Zen Tarot cards and use them until the zen teaches you that all we ever have is the moment and if we're not happy, it's because we're not in the moment!
The latest books I've read are:
* Drunvalo Melchizedek's newest book Living in the Heart (thank you Marilyn) and
* Eckhart Tolle's newest book A New Earth (thank you Matt)
I recommend them too. Any book that has to do with feeling your feelings, getting into the heart and getting out of your head I recommend! I know, easier said than done! :)
