Used to the Pain

About Me

My name is Trish (also known as Kurb, Zippy, Noodle, Bambi and god knows what else, you can take your pick really!) and i'm a student at the University of Manchester, and hopefully will be for the next few years. I love the social anthropology reading i do; despite all that happened in college with archaeology and all! Outside of the student life i work at Tesco in East Didsbury as i'm a glutton for punishment, am currently addicted to the ABC show Lost and live through my music, it see's me through the days. I come to Manchester on the back of two years at South Downs College and from being a member of the Journey of a Lifetime expedition to New Zealand in 2004. I also run a website for a musician who damn well deserves alot more acknowledgement then he gets. If you have five please visit: MyGen Profile Generator

My Interests

I'm a Green Bay Packers fan in American football. This season wasn't too bad and AJ Hawk and Donald Driver were defnately the standouts for me. I've been watching english football since i was pretty young and am a supporter of Portsmouth Football Club, who after many years are now in the Premiership. Pedro Mendes is the star of the show at Fratton. I watch abit of cricket in the summer when i take my little brother to the Rose Bowl to watch Shane Warne's Hampshire. I used to be a huge wrestling fan but have found myself falling out of it quite recently, i still like to keep tabs on the British scene though as well as what Shawn Michaels is doing in WWE. Watching that man has played a part in my life that i will never forget. I hope he gets the job done at mania this year!

I'd like to meet:

Anybody whose passionate about what they do, who believes in themself and that we can all bring something of our own to this world.

Music:

At this point in my life i listen to a whole range of stuff but it is mainly Aerosmith, Alter Bridge and Keith Urban. Aerosmith are a band i've loved since i was alot younger, and to finally see them this year in Cologne should be awesome. Alter Bridge's music gives me a reason to get up and go and the boys are such good guys i won't have a word said against them! Hope the recording goes well in Nashville! Keith Urban transcends boundaries musically and is an inspiration. He's country's king of shred and i truely cannot wait for April.

Movies:

Only films i want to see in 2007 are Alatriste and Whisper, although i'm also going to get hold of Mi Amigo, Moving August and Cold Heart. My favourite films of all time though are the Lord Of the Rings trilogy. So many stories, charecters and emotions in that film that i love. My feel good film is Snadra Bullock's "28 Days" and my laugh out loud film would be Happy Gilmore. Special note to Van Helsing too...pretty awful film i can't help but love.

Television:

TV consists of one thing: Lost. It's pretty much grown to addiction terms though which is pretty scary (maybe more to everyone else then me!LOL), however i think ill just carry on enjoying the ride! I like the combination of mythology and charecter stories that the show makes. In terms of charecters, my favourite is Sawyer played by Josh Holloway, but i also like the charecters of Desmond, Locke and Juliet.

Books:

Currently reading Mark Twain's "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn." Some of my favourite books would Elziabeth Kostova's "The Historian", Dan Brown's "Digital Fortress" and Margeret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale" (even if you cringe after every page).

Heroes:

-Anyone who has the self belief to achieve whatever they desire in life.
