About Me

I'm 24. I'm from Chicago, born and raised, and I've spent the past 5 years in New Orleans going to school for jazz studies and I play drums. Now I'm back in my hometown to cause a RUCKUS! I love playing jazz, funk, hip hop, and Afro-Cuban drumset as well as congas and other percussion. I try to lay down the funkiest shit i can...hopefully i will make you dance someday and you will be so attracted to me that your attraction will transcend all other attractions throughout the universe. Gimme a holler if you feel like you need some Dan-lovin. If you're a Hip Hop/Soul/Funk/Rock/Fusion artist who needs a live drummer, contact me! These are some groups I was/am a part of: Frequency Below (Not on the current tracks) which is now called--- Lovers In Arms (Not on the current tracks) D n A The Sixth Sun

My Interests

music music MUSIC of all types, Chicago - which leads to - eating - which leads to - New Orleans, Cuba, politics, ethnomusicology, drums, latin percussion, comedy, transcribing music/drums (if I really hear something I like), chilling/working with smart creative kind progressive inspiring folks (aka the people I love), eating a Little Debbie Nutty Bar one layer at a time so i can lick all the peanut butter in between each wafer....kinky...

I'd like to meet:

"There's a morphic subconsciousness here about music. It's part of the genetic history. There's so many musicians around here. I don't mean popular, fancy, well-known, rich ones... I mean natural musicians. Children being born, children coming up... it's morphic resonance. It's in the air. There's nothing sterile about music here. We're isolated down here. Nothing gets out, too, because we're below sea-level and it's hard to get that shit through a bunch of thick ass water." ---- Johnny Vidacovich, my drum teacher, on New Orleans
