G. Child started his career on a pirate radio station in Birmingham called Kriss FM, which led him to become a Midlands representative for The Sony Street Team. On Joining The Sony street Team, G. Child began interviewing artists such as, Mariah Carey, Jill Scott, Wyclef and Destiny's Child. Having worked on Kriss FM for a while G. Child joined the ranks of an alternative station in Birmingham called Sting FM. Whilst djiing on the radio G. Child became very popular in the clubs around Birmingham, and was chosen to organize the after party for the Destiny's Child Concert in Birmingham which was a complete road block, he also took part in the Channel 4 Flava DJ competition. In 2001 G. Child Joined The Def Jam UK Street Team and this is where things really started taking off, within 2 months he had interviewed, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Caddillac Tah and Christina Milian and was booked to play at a Ja Rule Concert which took place at The London Astoria. As well as this he played at an exclusive Christina Milian showcase and was asked to compose many mixes for Galaxy Radio in Birmingham, which became very popular around the Midlands area. G. Child now presents a 2 hour RnB show every Saturday from 10pm till 12am on 1Xtra BBC called The Refix, where he performs his unique style of back to back mixing and matching acapellas with instrumentals, this is a must to hear! Since joining 1Xtra BBC, G. Child has produced mixes for Dave Pearce's show on Radio 1, and a mix CD for Def Jam UK that was hosted by Tim Westwood. In July 2003 G. Child presented shows on Radio 1 for a whole month and in October 2003 G. Child got on the decks LIVE on the UK's biggest chart show CDUK as he supported Fatman Scoop and his 2 week No 1 single "Be Faithful". In November 2003 G. Child hit the decks at The 33rd Legendary Southport Weekender and performed a live set on 1Xtra BBC. G. Child helped host 1Xtras first ever UK RnB Showcase, where 12 of the UKs finest RnB acts performed on one stage in one night! If that was enough for you G. Child also performed in front 14'000 people at Nelly's first ever UK tour @ The M E N Arena, Manchester. As well as G. Childs success in the UK he has also branched out by djing at events all over Europe including Belgium, Greece, Austria, Switzerland, Egypt and has recently played in China for the Chinese new year 05.
