About Me

MyGen Profile Generator

My Name is Darren Thompson, I was born and raised in Montreal Quebec and moved to Seattle back in 2000.

Along with 5 other people, we created WSPIR - Washington State Paranormal Investigations and Research.

Married since 2000 to my beautiful wife Jill, who supports me in everything I do. She does all the organization of events, assessments, investigations and training for WSPIR. She creates all the posters and promo packs for my band, i2i (i2irocks.com) and is our biggest fan.

When we are not investigating the paranormal, the band is playing somewhere in and around Seattle.

ABOUT WSPIR (which is more important than about me)

WSPIR current has 60 members and restricts membership ONLY in order to maintain a good balance of skills and responsibilities so that all members have the opportunity to participate in investigations.

"Good Energy" promotes “Good Results” in all of our investigations, experiments and activities; therefore, it is important to ensure that we are a “good fit” with one another.

Not everyone will be accepted for membership or you may decide that we aren’t the group for you. There are many paranormal groups available and we will provide you with contact information for other groups in the area.

WSPIR recognizes the use of psychic sciences as an additional investigative instrument which joins the technical side in generating rich case studies for the benefit of clients and to assist clients in understanding their experiences and helping to lessen their fears.

WSPIR members are diverse, yet open-minded people (“open minded skeptics”) with varied interests, theories and areas of expertise who are enthusiastic about researching, studying paranormal activity and learning from each other. We do not go into any investigation for the excitement of being scared so we are not “thrill seekers”. We are paranormal investigators thoroughly trained in all areas of investigating and perform every investigation with professionalism and respect, both to the living and to the spirits.

My Interests

The paranormal, hearing the first person experience...the ghost story.

Bass guitar, rhythm guitar, lead vocals.

Jill and I play at photography. Love to travel and find haunted locations. We can never spend enough time with our fantastic kids: Jamie, Kerry Ann, Aaron, Angela, Alex, Javan (Angela's husband), Julie (Alex's wife) and our super grandkids - Cali and Meric.

I'd like to meet:

I love to meet people interested in the paranormal. Meet with fellow investigators to share experiences and investigation procedures; find what works and what does not work to further everyones knowledge and research.

Get to know us! WSPIR meetings are open to the public and held every other Sunday from 1:15 to 4:45 pm at various King County libraries. www.wspir.com shows the dates and locations.

Agendas are sent in advance of each meeting to everyone signed up on the WSPIR website Forum. Meetings are structured to promote open discussion. Please remember:

Discuss and question without judging. Be respectful. It is fine to be a skeptic but keep an open mind to all of the possibilities. Disagree about a theory but don’t make it personal. Trust in the good intentions of others.

Books:

Cemeteries of Seattle (Images of America: Washington)Author Robin Shannon is a member of WSPIR, whose members help care for several small cemeteries around Seattle.
Using more than 200 photographs, Shannon leads readers through Seattle’s pioneer history, depicting the cemeteries of Seattle and the history interred within them.
Amazon.com Review:
Robin Shannon's "Cemeteries of Seattle" is a unique book which takes you on a visual tour through Seattle's cemeteries and their famous (and infamous) inhabitants.
This book includes both historic and contemporary photographs of the cemeteries and gravesites as well as extremely interesting information about the significance of those interred within each cemetery.
This is a "must read" for any cemetery or history lover!
