About Me

Josiah Boornazian is a freelance woodwind performer, private instructor, composer, and California State University, Northridge student who plays saxophones, flute, and clarinet. Although he specializes in jazz, Josiah also plays in funk, rock, folk, and classical/concert wind bands. Josiah has had the privilege of performing and working with such jazz greats as Sammy Nestico, David “Fathead” Newman, Bennie Wallace, Bruce Babad, Paul Perez, Rob Lockart, Gary Pratt, Matt Harris, Jerry Steinholtz, Gordon Goodwin, Eric Marienthal, Brian Scanlon, Andy Martin, Jeff Driskill, Alvin Queen, Ken Bausano, David Cutler, Steve Eisen, Danton Boller, Bill Dendle, Anita Thomas, John Pisano, Whitey Thomas, Terry Myers, Steve Homan, and Doug Davis, among many others.
Josiah studies with Rob Lockart at CSUN and Bruce Babad , member of the nationally acclaimed Cannonball-Coltrane Project and professor at Fullerton college in the Los Angeles area. Josiah plays regularly at California State University of Northridge, as well as local gigs in the Los Angeles/Bakersfield areas.
