About Me

Who me?? Im Mexican, Japanese and Caucasian, raised by Serbio-Croatian/Hungarian Grandparents from the midwest in the sunny neighborhood of Bernal Heights just above the Mission district in San Francisco. Brought up Catholic in the Deaf community of St. Benedict's Church and educated in private schools with a strong Mexican family from My Dad's side.Growing up in the city, I became A statistical teen-age pregnancy of the early 90's and later a victim of the dot-com era push out; Leaving my home town of, I lived in Oakland on Lake Merritt and now live at an Artists compound in Vallejo, CA. I've spent over 10 years performing on The California Renaissance Faire circuit. That time has really come to a halt for me...this is what I used to say and mean....Well...Im an Artist in pursuit of Art. A performer in pursuit of Performance. I love to see projects come together. I love to sing and dance and act, make costumes, build props and sets, I love to conceptualize, conspire and create. I love to direct and watch my fellow performers grow and realize their talents. When it is all said and done I love the applause and knowing that I brought a smile to a face, touched someones heart or soul or made them laugh.UPDATE: I get on stage for this or that average of 4.5 times a year these days...most recently I learned how to think in negatives and created some amazing shadow puppets...hopefully future Artistic endeavors will manifest.Oh and Bonita (Some of you know me as Jessica...Bonita is my first name, Jessica is my middle name. As a youth, I always hated it, but have returned to it since my parents died a few years ago. Sometimes I'll even answer to it.I exist in an artistic community of Music, Dance, and Performance Art. I seek the balance between creativity and practical survival.I pour wine for a living, teach Belly Dance, make beautiful flowers that make people happy, sing Folk Music with Dogs in Doublets and get from day to day.Yep.

My Interests

Lots and many....I've been facinated with the metaphysical of late. Chakras and soul-journies. Why do you feel some people right down to your very soul? Where does syncronicity come from? Whats with the soul spark? Auras? I have other interests too....really.

Artists, Dreamers, Kindred Spirits, Magic Makers, Rappers, Poets, Musicians, Dancers, Actors, Activists, Sculptors, Cartoonists, Yogis..............And many more

Music:

Music will unite the planet in one form or another....im sure of it. Im waiting for the Wylde Stallions to lead us to Nirvana.

Movies:

Im a big fan of cinema. Although I love that it exists, I rarely make it to a Theater. Netflix is an awesome service, but when Im at home there is so much other stuff to do that I rarely have the attention span to make it through a whole movie. Consequently I am way behind the "Movie times" but I have lots of Movie faithfull friends that tell me stuff about things if I really wanna know. I love Terry Gilliam movies. I love documentaries. I love the surreal. I love animated movies. Not a big chick-flicker (ahem)

Television:

I have a TV, but I unplugged it. Honestly I dont watch that much TV. Sometimes I watch Erica's...I like Heros... Science programs, history programs.

Books:

I've been reading alot of non-fiction lately and catching up on my National Geo graphics.

Heroes:

Frieda Khalo, Jon Lithgow, Kermit the Frog and Sister Joan who told me I'd make a bad Nun.
