my name is nikki.
i am 28 years old.
i have a son who means the world to me.
i was a professional body piercer by trade, but my life changed drastically at the end of 2005 when i was in a ghastly car wreck as a passenger, and then again in early 2006, when i discovered i was pregnant.
although i have decided to retire from that industry, i will still occasionally partake in conventions, conferences, travel, knowledge swapping, and legislation issues.
in addition to that, i'll eventually be heading back to school to get my RN cert, after which hopefully, someday, i will become a lactation consultant... a guru of the mammaries, if you will.
i am also incredibly shy and have severe social anxiety.

in the meantime,
i spend my days taking care of my son, and working on myself little by little.
it's taking some time, but i'm getting there...
i'm much different than i used to be.
i spend 'extra' time researching and learning about herbalism, ayurveda, and healing, as well as honing my photography skills, searching out new music from far away places, growing flowers, herbs, and soon, veggies and spices, and watching badass movies.

• i believe that life goes by quicker with every year that passes, and most people take it for granted.
• i hold a deep fondness in my heart for smartasses and douchebags.
• i like the heel of the bread, and the corner brownie, just like my momma.
• i dislike my photos being used without permission. please heed warning.
• my nostrils are stretched. it took about three years.
• i abhor conversations in which people talk about their junk. please refrain from it.
• i have a deep love for weathered items from the past, including, but not limited to ethnic jewelry and ritual artifacts and incenses, antiques, books and medical supplies.
i'm very sentimental, as well.
• i can be a humongous asshole.
• i'm really horrible at returning messages. it's not that i dislike people, i'm usually just busy trying to clean crayon off floors, peanut butter off walls, and doing laundry. CONSTANTLY.
• i find beauty in very ordinary, simple, and sometimes very strange and/or random things.
• i am, by nature, an indecisive, and true, tumultuous libra. first day scorpio cusp.
• i feel lucky to have the friends that i do...and also consider myself lucky to be rid of the crappy ones.
• if someone hurts my friends or family, i take issue with it.
• i have a really hard time asking for help.
even if i'm physically unable to do something.
• i forgive, but NEVER forget.
• i'd rather physical pain over emotional pain any given day.
• i'm very observant. and resourceful.
• i use the thesaurus to it's fullest extent.
• i have an ongoing love affair with coffee with chicory, cuban style, with cinnamon stevia.
• i enjoy lotus tea, as well as other ethnobotanicals.
• i am an extremely spiritual person. not religious, but spiritual.
• i enjoy learning about cultures, religion, ritual, and superstitions.
