Here are a few: I love the platypus, bats, zoology/animals in general, reading, sewing, needlework, welding (arc, mig, and oxyacetalene torch- fire rocks my world), traveling, theme parks (Disneyland all the way! And The Edge at Great America!), teaching, tattoos, fashion design, horseback riding, bungee jumping and such, beautifully-crafted literature, some lame-ass fantasy novels, medieval manuscripts, religious kitsch, catholic church history, conspiracy theories (an interest not a belief- I'm not a complete nut-job), cooking, learning more about areas where I feel uninformed (like science, technology, more recent history, philosophy), taking stuff apart, putting stuff back together, power tools, and ever so much more.
new friends interested in exciting adventures in the world of New York. Zoo trips! Thrifting! Dressing up funny and playing in public fountains! Having passionate debates about proper grammatical usage! Or even occasionally acting like the grown-up I'm supposed to be! (My grown-up profile is on that other site.)
Joy Division, The Buzzcocks, Depeche Mode, Johnny Cash, Leonard Cohen, opera in general, Madonna, Violent Femmes, David Bowie, alternative rock radio
My favorites tend to be either children's or spookypants: Sleeping Beauty, Unico, Army of Darkness, So I Married an Axe Murderer, Heathers, any James Bond with Sean Connery, Grosse Point Blank
Since my beloved has forced me back into the world of television, I have discovered a love for CSI: Las vegas and UFC fights. Well, love is a bit strong- we're more like acquaintances, really. I also like Numbers, which we get via Netflix.
Like with the movies, I tend to like children's literature or fancypants pretentious stuff, such as anything by Thomas Hardy, especially Jude the Obscure, The House of the Seven Gables, The NeverEnding Story, Song of the Lioness quartet, Crime and Punishment, The Brothers Karamazov, hell, anything by Dostoyevsky, The Monk, gothic novels like The Castles of Athlin and Dunbayne or Vathek, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Chronicles of Prydain, The Little Princess, Lord Dunsany's The King of Elfland's Daughter, HP Lovecraft, Foucalt's Pendulum, The Last Temptation of Christ... the list could go on forever
What a lame ass question. I think my number one hero is Batman. He rocks my world. I want to either marry him or be him.
