Pete Wurthy --
Pete Wurthy is a 7 year seasoned emcee / rapper / singer / song writer / poet / and actor. He is a North Carolina native and is currently living in the Charlotte, NC area. His name is derived from his actual middle name 'Peter', as well as his love for all kinds of visual and performance expression, making him 'worthy' as an artist. The point of worthiness is extended further toward the fans, choosing to use the 'U' in Wurthy because it keeps him focused on creating and doing what they like to see and hear. His nickname the 'Rap Mechanic' is a title he chose because he wishes to repair the general public's negative feelings with contemporary urban rhyming and make them believe in good music again. This leads to a lot of carpentry imagery in all of his photos, music, shows, and more. To further exploit the theme, Wurthy usually carries an old and oversized wrench known to most as the 'rap wrench' at his shows and promotional events. This same rap wrench in particular has sentimental value as it was his grandfather’s wrench before he passed away, a person Wurthy admired deeply. No ultra expensive, super lavish chrome wrench could ever replace the wrench his grandfather gave him many years ago. Pete Wurthy currently records in his own private studio in Charlotte for published and internet exclusive work. His live acts are highly unparalleled, where leaving the audience in shock, hysterics, or a riot is not an uncommon result. His creativity enables him to prepare never before seen things and stunts at almost every show.
