About Me

I am anything but a static individual
I thrive on the concept that "failure is the mother of success"

I'm not here to be pretty.
I will no longer be seen and not heard.
I'm not here looking for new friends. I've already got amazing people in my life. If you think you're an exception to the rule, let me know. Otherwise, move on!

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity...and I'm not sure about the universe.

anyone who agrees with this:
"I went into the woods because I wanted to live deliberately... to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life...to put to rout all that was not life; and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."
~Henry David Thoreau

sim·u·la·cra

1 An image or representation. 2 An unreal or vague semblance.

Simulacrum (simulacra) :

Something that replaces reality with its representation. Jean Baudrillard in "The Precession of Simulacra" defines this term as follows: "Simulation is no longer that of a territory, a referential being, or a substance. It is the generation by models of a real without origin or reality: a hyperreal.... It is no longer a question of imitation, nor duplication, nor even parody. It is a question of substituting the signs of the real for the real" (1-2). His primary examples are psychosomatic illness, Disneyland, and Watergate. Fredric Jameson provides a similar definition: the simulacrum's "peculiar function lies in what Sartre would have called the derealization of the whole surrounding world of everyday reality"
