Gnosis - A profile

About Me

I am attending University through the Laurentian at Georgian Program. I enjoy reading, the odd bit of writing (infrequent, I'm afraid), chatting. I am spiritual, but in an odd way. I exert my will on reality (reality hacking, Chaos Magick, etc).My mundane passion is politics. The nature of the way our systems work fascinates me. I know, thats kinda boring.I live in Barrie, and would be willing to chat with anyone nearby. So... give me a message, I suppose.

My Interests

Chaos Magic, reading, gaming, politics, sociology, philosophy and other such discussions. Hanging out with small groups of friends (large groups and crowds and I do not get along.) Music, especially of the industrial variety, although Ambient Electronic Music I also enjoy.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone from the area around me is prefered, but really anyone at all. Other Magicians of the non-stage variety. Anyone absorbed by their own thoughts. As far as the dating thing goes... I like girls who are in touch with the dark as well as with the light. Intellegence is always a plus. Oh, and if you think I'm weird, the ability to deal with that would be... prefered (Of course, with a warning like that, those of you who wouldn't be able to deal with that already have stopped reading!)

Music:

:wumpscut:, Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, VnV Nation, Das Ich, Aphex Twin, Ministry... More as I think of them.

Movies:

Anything that provoke any sort of an emotional reaction, or with a statement to make, or with some mindless fun. Recent Favorites have been A History of Violence, And... well... names elude me. I like movies though.

Television:

I don't watch much TV, but when I do its probably Corner Gas, or Boston Legal. I like my TV funny, obviously.

Books:

At the moment, I am reading the fourth book in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, "A Feast for Crows". My favorite authors have been Terry Pratchet, Neil Gaiman, Douglas Adams, William Gibson, Phillip K. Dick, And others. On the mystical front, my favorite author is Phil Hine, a UK based Magician who has learned not to take things so damn seriously. The Principia Discordia. Oh, and H.P. Lovecraft. Ia Cthulhu.

Heroes:

Phil Hine, William Shatner (heh), Ghandi?

Nne little words: The Magician's Mantra

There's an old saying amongst magicians that I only fully grokked yesterday, after a rather silly attempt at spiritualism. It has been called the Magician's Mantra. I have it on good authority that so...

Day 11 Liber MMM

Sorry I didn't get this up sooner.   Yesterday morning, I did the stillness exercise while in class, taking AnimaPurasit's suggestion to heart.   I'm sitting there anyways, I may as well be ...

Day 7 and 8 Liber MMM

Yesterday was an utter failure due to a nose cold, which kept me sneezing every time I tried to sit still.   I gave it a go in any case.  All I can note though is that 'Sneezing makes it ver...

Day 6 Liber MMM

Today was the worst day so far, mostly due to timing concerns.  I got up at 6:30 AM to get to school, and spent 8 hours or so there... and then I was busy for the rest of the day as well, so I di...

Today, I woke up late, at 9:50... so I began my Liber MMM practice at 9:57, shortly after getting myself to do the standard 'needs to be taken care of now' morning things.   I had a few ittinnera...

Day 3 Liber MMM

Today didn't go as well as It could of because of lack of sleep, as I'm currently operating on 5 hours or so of it.  I started at 9:55, and all was well on the stillness front as I have figured o...

Queen of Swords

But beyond the MMM work I'm doing, the other thing I have been getting my hands into has been some heavy, voracious reading.   In the last two days I have managed to finish Crowley's Book 4, whic...

Day 2 Liber MMM

Incredible!   At least from my perspective anyways.   I began stretching at 9:50, and by 9:55 I was ready to go.  I stayed still from 9:55 until 10:20, so 25 minutes of stillness isn't ...
