About Me

When the wind picked up the fire spread
And the grapevines seemed left for dead
And the northern sky looked like the end of days...the end of days
The wake up call to a rented room
Sounded like an alarm of impending doom
To warn us it's only a matter of time before we all burn
Before we all burn...
We bought some wine and some paper cups
Near your daughter's school when we picked her up
And drove to a cemetery on a hill…on a hill
And we watched the plumes paint the sky gray
As she laughed and danced through the field of graves
There I knew it would be alright...that everything would be alright
Would be alright...
And the news reports on the radio said it was getting worse
As the ocean air fanned the flames
But I couldn't think of anywhere I would’ve rather been
To watch it all burn away...to burn away
And the firemen worked in double shifts
With prayers for rain on their lips
And they knew it was only a matter of time...
“...Anyone who uses the terms ‘irregardless’, ‘a whole nother’ or ‘all of the sudden’ shall be sent to a work camp!” (Stewie Griffin as "President of the World" on Family Guy...I would SOOOO vote for this kid!)
"The funny thing about that little white speck on the top of chicken shit...That little white speck is chicken shit too." (Ernest Tucker in Pure Country) You're God damned right, Ernest!
“Not everyone is afforded the luxury of lies. Some are burdened with the truth yet still believe. They do sometimes wonder, however, if others would be capable of the same resolve if their shroud of blissful ignorance was ever lifted and they were faced with reality. Could they bear that weight? Would the truth change THEIR reality? That question is often left unanswered until it’s too late...” (RLS 2007)
"Life is like a box of chocolates. If you stick your finger in enough of them, you'll eventually find one you want to eat. Or something like that..." (RLS 2006)

My Interests

Eh...lot's of stuff. Nothing out of the ordinary really. Music, movies, concerts, friends, college and professional football, hockey , NASCAR , good food...the same as anyone else, I s'pose.

This AFI cover of NIN's "Head Like a Hole" rocks out with its cock out! Stop whatever else might be playing and click this little maverick right here . Then just crank up the volume and rock that shit like its 1989 again!

I'd like to meet:

Myself...about 20 years ago. I could save myself a ton of aggravation and I'd probably be a millionaire by now!

I'd like to hang with the Junkies for a day...maybe see some flops. That would be a li'l bit SILLY ! If you haven't heard their show you are definitely huuurrrting ! Click HERE to listen to them live from 5:45 am - 10:00 am (EST/EDT) or download their podcasts anytime. Don't be a donkey! Listen to the money metal Junkies !

Music:

Don't expect me to fit into a mold on this. If I like something I couldn't give less of a shit if you think it's cool or not. I don't care if it's nSync or Anthrax. If I like it I'll listen to it. I'll give almost anything a chance. Play something and I'll tell you if I like it. I can recognize 7/8 time, minor 7th chords, excellent use of syncopation and lot's of other band-geek stuff that I remember from 10 years of music, but I'm not a music snob. Most people don't care about things like amazing chord progressions or whether or not someone is using a harmonizer on their vocals. If the music moves them they'll listen to it. End of story. Sell your music theory somewhere else. We're busy rockin' this shit right here!

Movies:

Lately...The Mist, Cloverfield, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, No Country for Old Men, I Am Legend (If you didn't get at least a little misty-eyed when that dog died you have no soul...), Eastern Promises, The Bourne Supremacy, The Kingdom, Knocked Up, Transformers, Donnie Darko, 300, The Prestige, Borat, Lucky Slevin, The Boondock Saints, V for Vendetta, The Departed, Crash, Snatch, Christmas Vacation, Plains Trains and Automobiles, The Notebook (Ya, it's a total chick-flick...F' off!), The Family Stone (Again with the chick-flicks!), Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.

If you want to check out some silly movie reviews check out BDK Reviews . He may be a 90 pound weakling, but he's usually right on the money with his reviews.

Television:

Dexter, Family Guy, American Dad, South Park, Futurama, BSG, History Channel, Dicovery Channel, Military Channel, Learning Channel, Animal Planet...

Books:

It's been a while since I've read anything other than a magazine. I just haven't had the time or motivation. I'm sure I'll go on a tear and bang out a few over a month or so sometime soon.

Heroes:

My Grandparents. They came from a better time. They made my world a better place.
