WHY SO SERIOUS????

About Me

GUYANESE!!!
135 Entertainment MISTER J, BRIGADE MUSIC
Mister J Born Richard Jimenez in Manhatten, NYC on November 3, 1978 to father, Ricardo Jimenez and mother, Indera Haridas. Both parents hailed from South America, the mother from Guyana, the father from Ecuador. He grew up mostly with his mother and her side of the family, since his father was rarely around. His father had a drug and alcohol problem and never made an effort to reform. Nevertheless, he grew up amongst people who loved and nurtured him. Richard always had a love for music since very young, and had a knack for imitating songs he liked. Years later, at the age of 13, a new influence caught his ear. He always knew it was around, but he had no idea how much of an impact it was going to make on him. HIP-HOP. He was quite taken with it. For the next couple of years, artists like LL Cool J, Nas, Ice Cube, Dre and Snoop, Salt N Pepa, Queen Latifah, just to name a few, had an incredible impact on Mr. J's early days. They were his companions as his parents moved him from place to place. From New York, to New Jersey, to North Carolina, to Baltimore, DC, Virginia, Chicago Heights, Indiana, and finally, Florida. From the early 90's listening to Das EFX and Black Sheep, to the late 90's listening to Mobb Deep and the Wu-Tang Clan. In '97, going on 19 years of age, he made the decision to start the road to glory, and try to become a mainstream hip-hop artist...
His love for the genre is intense. People mastering wordplay, cleverly constructing beats from virtually anything... it was incredible. His playlist expanded with each passing year, so that when he decided what he wanted to do, he didn't feel too much like a fresh fish. His teachers were all the artists he admired so much. J started at 19, and 8 years later, at 27 years young, this is what has been accomplished... Hundreds of songs created. Solos, group songs, duets, collaborations with different types of artists. And they were all different styles, from street music, to hip-hop love ballads, to songs full of anger, to just having fun. Any performances Mr. J was a part of, he always stood apart from the rest, capturing the crowd with melodic beats and excellent lyrical delivery. When I speak, they listen. It's like they can't help it. He's performed many times in Orlando at the AKA Lounge, Club Screamers, and The Club at Firestone for several different events. He also won 5 weeks in a row at a performance competition at Club Melao's by University of Florida. Grand prize...$1000. He's also graced stages in Tampa, Melbourne, Daytona and Jacksonville. SOME of these performances made possible by Junior Latchman. Before Mr. J met Junior 2 years ago in 2004, he tried to do things on his own with only the help of his cousin (Passion). Without management assisting, it is extremely difficult to try to do everything. More shows, more recognition, mixtapes put out, spots on other mixtapes, incredible networking opportunities, and many demos to many people.
Then for some reason, everything went downhill... Junior turned his back on everyone & decided to be enemies instead of friends. He harbors an unnecessary misguided grudge against his former pupils. The fuse has been lit...
2008. Mr. J is now rid of Latchdown Entertainment, and with him Passion, Blanco, E-Lyricis, John Street begin anew... again. Currently, he sided with his cousin Passion who runs BRIGADE MUSIC. Mister J has also worked out an agreement with 135 ENTERTAINMENT, run by his long time friend Joe Priceless. He is an established artist & producer. He's produced for a lot of underground talent in Florida and abroad. Well rounded, experienced, and ready for anything, it is time he joined the ranks of those he admired.
