The Setbacks

One step forward, two steps back!

About Me

The Setbacks formed in Bath from the ashes of ska punks Caddyshack around Autumn 2001, recruiting Ex-Tweaker guitarist Ade along the way. Having done the ska-punk thing to death long before it became fashionable they decided to go back to basics and make no frills, all out Punk Rock.Original drummer Matt was replaced by Chris (Ex-Pebbledash) in May 2004 and guitarist Reds left in Feb 2005. The addition of new guitarist Rob (also Ex-Tweaker) shortly after brought a harder edge to their sound due to a more technical, metal influenced style. They played their first show at the Porter Butt, Bath in July 2002 with Phinius Gage and were surprised to find that people actually liked them. Since then they have played with The Misfits, The Avengers, Horrorpops, Gold Blade, Texas Terri Bomb, Midnight Creeps, My Deaf Audio, Reno Divorce, Dragster and The Peacocks to name(drop) but a few.In 2003 they released their debut 'Good Run of Bad Luck' CD and had the track I Dont Know played on Radio 1's 'The Lock Up'.In July 2005 they went in to Baths Glasstone studios and recorded the six track Death & Taxes EP which received a positive review in Big Cheese Magazine.Always looking to play new places and meet new people.
