1876 is an up and coming band with a drive that can only be matched by the intensity of its music. 1876 was formed January 2007, in Flint, MI by members Joseph Allsop, Justin Benyo, and Fernando Solis. As one of the few progressive rock bands from Michigan, 1876 is looking to push through the current fashion of the music scene by taking things back to the root of music itself: Storytelling. Every song, whether it is led by the progressive jazz fusion guitar riffs or the steady, soothing yet pounding rhythm section, provides a landscape for listeners to explore again and again. Although each member hails from diverse musical backgrounds, together they orchestrate a sense of empathy that is yet to be matched by many local acts. Taking influence from modern independent rock bands Fear Before the March of Flames, The Fall of Troy and Cursive then combining it with the styles of such classic acts as Yes and Rush, 1876 is pushing to shape the face of modern progressive rock.
