I am currently fighting breast cancer (IDC/Stage 4). Please join my "pink warrior" support group. This group is designed to share information, stories, worries, wins, and rants with those who are fighting breast cancer, have fought breast cancer, and their friends and family who love and support them.I would very much appreciate it. The link is The Breast Cancer Support Group on My Space ...come join!
Before listing my interests, you should know that I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2006 (after finding the small lump myself during a routine monthly breast exam) and have had a lumpectomy, port installment surgery, and am currently enduring IDC chemotherapy protocol (so I'm very bald, puny looking, with that strange "steroid" puffy thing going...and they actually refer to this part as the "cure" -- geeezzzzz).
I've decided to leave the picture of me posted in my pictures to remind myself of the following:
There is light at the end of this tunnel!
Even though I have cancer, it does not have me!
I may never look like that picture again, but I will look like a stronger, better, and more aware me!
And anyone who does not realize that the new person who will emerge will be a much better person inside and out can kiss my big, fat...feet (man they hurt when they swell like this....damn steriods! ROFL).

I'd like to meet:
Noam Chomsky and Albert Einstein (although I doubt I could work up the nerve to speak) -- Mother Jones (I doubt speaking to her would pose any problems at all) -- Harriot Beecher Stowe (an ancestor of mine) -- Michael Smith (fictional character), and a few others...
Music:
I like most genres of music...jazz, rock and roll, and classic tend to be my favorites (and pretty much in that order). My least favorite is country and western.
Movies:
I enjoy a strange mix of movies (Netflixs went a little crazy trying to figure out recommendations). I enjoy GOOD science fiction, some historical stuff, good drama, documentaries, to name a few...
Television:
When I do watch television, and admittedly, I watch more television that I used to since I've been ill (it is company of sorts in the lost and lonely world of healing and recuperation), it is usually one of the following channels: Science, Discovery, SciFi, History, Travel, food, Biography (yes, I know...EXTREMELY boring...what can I say?)
Books:
To post a list of my favorite books would be an impossible and unending task...
Heroes:
Connie, my friend and sister, who supports me on so many levels. I don't know how I can ever repay all her love and kindness!
Jennifer, my baby daughter, who took me to radiation treatments every day for two months...who encouraged me to continue going to treatments when I was tired, sick, and grumpy, who treated me with trips to my favorite coffee shop after treatments with love and encouragement...thank you Jennifer for loving and caring about me!
My middle daughter, Tamara, who worries about me and calls me so very often from Phoenix, Arizona. She is currently working to raise money for ....Arizona Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk for the Cure.... that she is participating in to support me in my fight with cancer (feel free to go to that web-site and donate to her cause). You cannot appreciate fully how wonderful and generous this is until you realize just how full this lovely young woman's plate is...she is an ESL, second-grade school teacher, she just bought her first home and is about to get her Master's degree (this coming July), among so many other things she is engaged in. Thank you, Tammy!
Mother Jones (if you don't know...find out), Albert Einstein, Myrtle Setser, to name a few... And, this list would not be complete if I didn't name Mr. Noam Chomsky...a truly brilliant mind.
